Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Kudus (lit. 'Indonesian Football Association of Kudus'), simply known as Persiku Kudus is an Indonesian professional association football, football club based in Kudus Regency, Central Java. Persiku is currently competing in the Liga 2 (Indonesia), Liga 2. It has the nicknames ''Macan Muria'' and ''Laskar Telingsing'', and its supporters are known as the SMM (Suporter Macan Muria). Persiku is headquartered at the Wergu Wetan Stadium. Persiku's best achievement was in 2005 Liga Indonesia Second Division, as they managed to become champions in a 2–1 victory over Perserang Serang. Persiku's player Agus Santiko was the top scorer with 16 goals. History Football activities in Kudus have actually existed since the Dutch East Indies era, but there was no organization to oversee it. The 2024–25 Liga 2 (also known as the 2024–25 Pegadaian Liga 2 for sponsorship reasons) was the eighth season of the Liga 2 (Indonesia), Liga 2 under its current name and the 15th season under its current Indonesian football league system, league structure. The league format was announced on 25 July 2024. The season started on 7 September 2024. Teams 26 teams competed in the league – the seventeen teams from the previous season, three teams relegated from the 2023–24 Liga 1 (Indonesia), Liga 1 and six teams promoted from 2023–24 Liga 3 (Indonesia), Liga 3. Liga 2 ( English: ''League Two''), officially known as Pegadaian Liga 2 for sponsorship reasons, is the second-tier of the football competition system in Indonesia, organized by Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI). The competition started in 2017 after PSSI changed the previous competition Liga Indonesia Premier Division ( Indonesian: ''Divisi Utama Liga Indonesia''). Originally, the Premier Division was the top-tier division when it was first established in 1994 and only became the second tier in 2008 when its place in the top flight was replaced by the newly formed Indonesia Super League.
