Persian Music Channel
PMC (shortened from Persian Media Corporation or Persian Music Channel or Persian Media Channel ) is a free-to-air satellite TV network owned by Persian Media Corporation with its headquarters in Luzern, Switzerland (formerly in Dubai Media City). It was launched in 2003. The network is devoted to Persian music videos from ex-pat Iranian singers, as well as Iranian singers based in Iran. Arabic, Kurdish and Turkish hit songs are also shown on the network. The channel is also widely viewed in Iran, Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and Northern Africa via free-to-air satellite. In March 2017 the broadcasting via Hotbird was discontinued. 720p
720p (720 lines progressive) is a progressive HD signal format with 720 horizontal lines/1280 columns and an aspect ratio (AR) of 16:9, normally known as widescreen HD (1.78:1). All major HD broadcasting standards (such as SMPTE 292M) include a 720p format, which has a resolution of 1280×720. The number ''720'' stands for the 720 horizontal scan lines of image display resolution (also known as 720 pixels of vertical resolution). The ''p'' stands for progressive scan, i.e. non-interlaced. When broadcast at 60 frames per second, 720p features the highest temporal resolution possible under the ATSC and DVB standards. Eutelsat 7B
Eutelsat 3D is a communications satellite operated by Eutelsat, provides services to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. It initially was located at 3° E in geosynchronous orbit in a fixed point above the equator, where Eutelsat already has two satellites, Eutelsat 3A and Eutelsat 3C. When Eutelsat 3B was launched in 2014 this satellite was moved to 7°E. The satellite has four footprints and broadcasts on both the Ka band and the Ku band. Three footprints serve Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa in both Ka and Ku bands. The fourth footprint covers sub-Saharan Africa but only in Ku band. It has 56 transponders in total. The satellite was built by Thales Alenia Space using their spacebus 4000 satellite bus. Hot Bird (also styled Hotbird) is a group of satellites operated by Eutelsat, located at 13 °E over the equator ( orbital position) and with a transmitting footprint over Asia, Europe, North Africa, Americas and the Middle East. Only digital radio and television channels are transmitted by the Hot Bird constellation, both free-to-air and encrypted. In addition there are a few interactive and IP services.
