Perpetuum Fritule
''Perpetuum Fritule'' is the fifth album by the Croatian hip hop / rap rock band The Beat Fleet and their first live album. It was recorded at the ''Močvara'' club in Zagreb on 7 November 2009 and the album was released in July 2010. It was their first release for Dallas Records label, after they left Menart Records and signed for Dallas in 2009. The album's title is a humorous pun on the musical term '' Perpetuum mobile'' (literally meaning "perpetual motion"), in which the second word is replaced by '' fritule'' (also known as "fritula" in singular), a type of traditional sweet pastry popular in Dalmatia. In line with the pun, the album cover depicts a drawing of a fritula and the CD notes include a recipe for preparing ''fritule''. The Beat Fleet
The Beat Fleet, also known as TBF, is a band from Split, Croatia, founded in 1990. Members of the band are: Aleksandar Antić (vocals, lyrics, samples, accordion), Mladen Badovinac (vocal, samples), Luka Barbić (vocals, keyboards, samples), Ognjen Pavlović (bass guitar), Nikša Mandalinić (electric guitar), and Nikola Vidović (drums). They published six albums. The Beat Fleet are widely considered to be one of the most innovative experimental bands in Croatia and wider area. They are heavily influenced by reggae, the British trip hop scene, electronic and experimental music. With years their built new style of music was named ping pong. Ping pong is a mixture of reggae, afro beat, hip hop, rap rock, alternative rock, dub and British trip hop. In 2017, former TBF member Nikola Čelan released ''Baština'' (''Legacy''), a book about the emergence of the hip hop scene in Split, as well as the forming years of TBF. Slobodna Dalmacija
''Slobodna Dalmacija'' () is a Croatian daily newspaper published in Split. The first issue of ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' was published on 17 June 1943 by Tito's Partisans in an abandoned stone barn on Mosor, a mountain near Split, while the city was occupied by the Italian army. The paper was later published in various locations until Split was liberated on 26 October 1944. From the following day onward, ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' has been published in Split. Although it was originally viewed as a strictly Dalmatian regional newspaper, during the following decades ''Slobodna Dalmacija'', grew into one of the largest and most widely read daily newspapers of Yugoslavia, with its circulation reaching a zenith in the late 1980s. Nova TV is a Croatian free-to-air television network launched on 28 May 2000. Acoustic Music
Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. While all music was once acoustic, the retronym "acoustic music" appeared after the advent of electric instruments, such as the electric guitar, electric violin, electric organ and synthesizer. Acoustic string instrumentations had long been a subset of popular music, particularly in folk. Dalmatia
Dalmatia (; hr, Dalmacija ; it, Dalmazia; see names in other languages) is one of the four historical regions of Croatia, alongside Croatia proper, Slavonia, and Istria. Dalmatia is a narrow belt of the east shore of the Adriatic Sea, stretching from the island of Rab in the north to the Bay of Kotor in the south. Fritule
is a Croatian festive pastry made particularly for Christmas. They resemble little doughnuts, the Italian ''zeppole'', Venetian ''frìtole'', and the Dutch Christmas snack ''oliebollen'' ('balls of oil'). However, they are usually flavored with rum and citrus zest, containing raisins, and are topped with powdered sugar. A variant of the dish, called , is prepared in Slovenia. Rap Rock
Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Rap rock's most popular subgenres include rap metal and rapcore, which include heavy metal and hardcore punk-oriented influences, respectively.
