"Permawar" (stylized as "PermaWar") is a song by American industrial metal band Ministry. It is the third track and the only single from the band's thirteenth studio album, ''From Beer to Eternity''. It was released on August 9, 2013 as a digital download. Lyrics According to Al Jourgensen's interview with Kenny Herzog of ''Spin'' magazine, "PermaWar" is based on Rachel Maddow's book '' Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power''. The song lyrically criticizes "the multi-million dollar industry that war has become". Music video The music video for the song was filmed at Jourgensen's 13th Planet compound in El Paso, Texas. It was produced by Jourgensen's wife, Angelina Lukacin-Jourgensen, and directed by filmmaker and animator Zach Passero, who also directed other Ministry music videos, including "Lieslieslies", "GhoulDiggers" and "99 Percenters". ''From Beer to Eternity'' is the thirteenth studio album by American industrial metal band Ministry, released on September 6, 2013 by 13th Planet Records. Although frontman Al Jourgensen had previously stated that this was going to be Ministry's final album (following the death of guitarist Mike Scaccia, who appears posthumously), a follow-up album, ''AmeriKKKant'', was released in 2018. ''From Beer to Eternity'' was also the first Ministry album since ''Houses of the Molé'' (2004) not to feature Tommy Victor on guitars or bass. The sole single from the album, " PermaWar", was released by the iTunes Store on August 9, 2013. Ministry is an American industrial metal band founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1981 by producer, singer, and instrumentalist Al Jourgensen. Originally a synth-pop outfit, Ministry evolved into one of the pioneers of industrial rock and industrial metal in the late 1980s. Tony Campos
Antonio Campos (born March 8, 1973) is an American musician. He is the current bassist for industrial metal bands Static-X and Fear Factory and the vocalist and bassist for Asesino. He is a former bassist for metal bands Prong, Soulfly, Ministry and Possessed. Career Campos was part of the original Static-X lineup, playing bass and performing backing vocals on all of the group's studio albums. Along with Wayne Static, he was one of the legal owners of the Static-X name, even though he did not participate in the band's temporary reunion from 2012–2013. In 2001, Campos broke his collarbone in a motorcycle accident, leaving him unable to play in the ongoing "Extreme Steel Tour". Campos continued to sing backing vocals on the tour, and Marty O'Brien took over bass duties. In 2002, Campos became part of Mexican American metal group Asesino. Sinhue "Sin" Quirin is an American guitarist based in Burbank, California. He came to prominence as a member of industrial metal band Ministry and its side projects, and as a primary songwriter on their albums ''The Last Sucker'' and '' From Beer to Eternity''. In addition to his role in Ministry (co-writing credits on the abovementioned releases and guitar on 2008's ''Cover Up'' album) and primary writing credits for Revolting Cocks albums '' Sex-O Olympic-O'' and '' ¿Got Cock?'', Quirin toured the U.S. and worked with DJ Hardware on the 2009 ReVamp tour. Mike Scaccia
Michael Ralph Scaccia (June 14, 1965 – December 22, 2012) was an American musician, best known as a guitarist for several heavy metal and alternative rock acts, including Rigor Mortis, Ministry and Revolting Cocks. Life and career Scaccia was born in Babylon, New York. He was of Italian descent and had three older sisters. Scaccia's first band, Spectrum, was formed with high school friends Chuck and Chad Williams on guitar and bass, Johnny Carpenter on drums and Barry (Baron) Lane on vocals. Bruce Corbitt eventually replaced Barry Lane on vocals. Scaccia left Spectrum in late June 1982; the next year, he formed Rigor Mortis with schoolmates Harden Harrison and Casey Orr.
