Henry Perky
Henry Drushel Perky (December 7, 1843 – June 29, 1906) was a lawyer, businessman, promoter, and inventor. Perky is the inventor of shredded wheat. Early life He was born in Saltcreek township, Holmes County, Ohio, the fifth son of Daniel Jefferson Perky ( 1808–1862) and Magdalena Drushel (c. 1812–1911), both of Pennsylvania. He married his wife Susanna Melissa Crow (born 1845) on August 3, 1865, in Mount Hope, Ohio. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in Nebraska. He was elected to the Nebraska State Senate in 1868 when only twenty-five years old (although other sources suggest he represented the eighth district from 1874 to 1876). The couple lived at Omaha, Nebraska, and Wahoo, Nebraska, before 1880. Henry went to Colorado for his health in 1880 where he was an attorney for the Union Pacific Railroad. Cheves Perky
Mary Cheves West Perky (1874–1940) was an American psychologist and one of the twenty-one female students who studied under Edward B. Titchener at Cornell University. She received a Ph.D. in 1910 for her groundbreaking work on visual, auditory, and olfactory imagery. Her findings have had a considerable impact by being cited by name in the title of an article as recently as 2012. According to her findings, perception is not merely a representation of the external world, but is also influenced by thoughts, expectations, and mental images. In the same year, she performed the "Banana Experiment," which demonstrated how perception and visual imagery could be confused; a phenomenon known as the Perky Effect. Pinky And Perky
''Pinky and Perky'' is a children's television series first broadcast by BBC One, BBC TV in 1957, and revived in 2008 as an animated adaptation. Original series The title characters are a pair of anthropomorphic puppet pigs, named Pinky and Perky, who were originally going to be named Pinky and Porky but there was a problem registering Porky as a character name. This was solved by Margaret Potter, the wife of their producer, Trevor Hill, who also discovered them, when she woke him up one night announcing "I've got it! Pinky and Perky!" They were created by Czechoslovakian immigrants Jan and Vlasta Dalibor who moved to the village of Houndhill, leaving the pigs under the cupboard in The Bungalow.
