Periya Idathu Penn
''Periya Idathu Penn'' () is a 1963 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language romantic comedy film, directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, B. Saroja Devi, M. R. Radha and T. R. Rajakumari. It was released on 10 May 1963. The film was blockbuster, the highest-grossing film of the year and ran more than 100 days. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Sabhash Suri'' and in Hindi as ''Jawab (1970 film), Jawab''. The story of the 1982 Tamil film ''Sakalakala Vallavan (1982 film), Sakalakala Vallavan'' was also inspired by this film. Plot Murugappan is a small-time farm labourer who lives with his widowed elder sister Gangamma in a village. Kaïlasam Pillaival is the zamindar of the village, Sabapathy and Punitha are his children. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications. It was founded in 1932 as ''The Indian Express'', under the ownership of Chennai-based P. Varadarajulu Naidu. Santwana Bhattacharya was appointed Editor-in-Chief on 1 July 2022, replacing G.S. Vasu. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Kalki Krishnamurthy also edited the magazine, which is published on a weekly basis. During his term the magazine was much more respected due to its quality. Jothi Venkatachalam (born 27 October 1917, date of death unknown) was an Indian politician who served as Governor of Kerala and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. Life and career Jothi Venkatachalam was born in Maymyo, hill city of British Burma (now Myanmar), on 27 October 1917 to G. Kuppuram and MeenaPai. Her father was appointed to serve in Secretary office of British Burma, resigned and came back to Chennai in 1930 due to political turmoil during that time in Burma. Jothi continued her study in Ewart Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Veppery, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Jothi was more involved in social works and came to the attention of Congress party. She was appointed minister for Liquor Prohibition and Women's Welfare in the C. Rajagopalachari cabinet between 10 October 1953 and 12 April 1954. Tamil Nadu Legislative Council was the upper house of the former bicameral legislature of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It began its existence as Madras Legislative Council, the first provincial legislature for Madras Presidency. It was initially created as an advisory body in 1861, by the British colonial government. It was established by the Indian Councils Act 1861 ( 24 & 25 Vict. c. 67), enacted in the British parliament in the aftermath of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Its role and strength were later expanded by the Indian Councils Act 1892 ( 55 & 56 Vict. c. 14). Limited election was introduced in 1909.
