Perimilovsky Heights
Perimilovsky Heights (Перемиловские высоты) is a place of bloody battles on the Eastern Front (World War II), eastern front during the World War II from November 27 to December 5, 1941. It was named after the village of Перемилово (Московская область), Peremilovo, Dmitrovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Dmitrovsky District, Moscow Oblast, located on the left (eastern) bank of the Moscow Canal opposite the town of Yakhroma (now the eastern part of Yakhroma), right next to the bridge over the canal. This is one of the frontiers where the Wehrmacht, Wehrmacht troops were stopped, the easternmost point of their advance on the fronts north of Moscow. 1st Shock Army
The 1st Shock Army () was a field army established by the Soviet Union's Red Army during World War II. The 1st Shock Army was created in late 1941 and fought in the northern areas of Russia and the Baltic States until the surrender of Germany in 1945. The Army was created in accordance with prewar doctrine that called for Shock Armies to 'overcome difficult defensive dispositions in order to create a tactical penetration of sufficient breadth and depth to permit the commitment of mobile formations for deeper exploitation.' However, as the war went on, Shock Armies lost this specific role and reverted, in general, to ordinary frontline formations. PPSh-41
The PPSh-41 () is a selective-fire, open-bolt, blowback submachine gun that fires the 7.62×25mm Tokarev round. It was designed by Georgy Shpagin of the Soviet Union to be a cheaper and simplified alternative to the PPD-40. The PPSh-41 saw extensive combat during World War II and the Korean War. It became one of the major infantry weapons of the Red Army during World War II, with about six million PPSh-41s manufactured during the period. The firearm is made largely of stamped steel, and can be loaded with either a box or drum magazine. The Reichstag (; ) is a historic legislative government building on Platz der Republik in Berlin that is the seat of the German Bundestag. It is also the meeting place of the Federal Convention, which elects the President of Germany. The Neo-Renaissance building was constructed between 1884 and '94 in the Tiergarten district on the left bank of the River Spree to plans by the architect Paul Wallot.
