Perilous
''Perilous'' is the thirteenth studio album by American progressive rock band Glass Hammer, released on October 23, 2012 by Arion Records/Sound Resources. This is the last album with Jon Davison acting as sole lead vocalist, with former vocalists Susie Bogdanowicz and Carl Groves returning on the following album. The song titles, when read in sequence, form a short poem. It is the first album featuring Davison in which he was not involved in the writing process, as he joined Yes earlier in the year and was not available for the songwriting sessions. As with previous albums ''Journey of the Dunadan'' or '' Chronometree'', ''Perilous'' is a concept album. However band member Steve Babb stated "we have never done a concept album like ''Perilous''. Glass Hammer
Glass Hammer is an American progressive rock band from Chattanooga, Tennessee, created and led by Steve Babb and Fred Schendel. Babb and Schendel, who founded the band in 1992, are the only constant members in the lineup, having surrounded themselves by various guest performers. The different lineups included several lead vocalists, including Michelle Young and Jon Davison. Originally a studio project only, the band occasionally performs live, especially since the early 2010s, but never does large-scale tours. Jon Davison
Jon Davison (born January 16, 1971) is an American singer, musician and songwriter who has been the lead vocalist of progressive rock band Yes since 2012. He is also known as the former lead singer of progressive rock band Glass Hammer from 2009 to 2014, and the former bass guitarist of Sky Cries Mary from 1993 to 2016, in which he was credited under his nickname of "Juano" Davison. In 2020, he and fellow Yes member Billy Sherwood created a new band, Arc of Life, which released its eponymous first studio album the following year and its second album in 2022. ''Cor Cordium'' (Latin: "Heart of Hearts") is the twelfth studio album by American progressive rock band Glass Hammer. The name of the album is taken from the poem of the same name by Algernon Charles Swinburne. The album follows the symphonic-progressive musical direction of the previous album '' If'' after the arrival of singer Jon Davison and guitarist Alan Shikoh. Production Songwriting Although all the songs on ''Cor Cordium'' have their music credited to Steve Babb, Fred Schendel, Jon Davison and Alan Shikoh and all their lyrics to Babb, Schendel and Davison, Babb and Schendel were more precise in an interview: Schendel describes "Nothing Box" as "a more aggressive song overall while keeping the verses very melodic". ''Ode to Echo'' is the fourteenth studio album by American progressive rock band Glass Hammer, released on March 11, 2014. It is the first album with drummer Aaron Raulston, and marks the return of former vocalists Carl Groves and Susie Bogdanowicz. Groves wasn't featured in a Glass Hammer album since ''Culture of Ascent'' in 2007, and Bogdanowicz's last album with the band was ''Three Cheers for the Broken-Hearted'' in 2009; in the three previous albums, all lead vocals were sung by new singer Jon Davison. An acoustic guitar is a musical instrument in the string family. When a string is plucked its vibration is transmitted from the bridge, resonating throughout the top of the guitar. Bob Katz
Bob Katz is an American audio mastering engineer and author of a popular book on audio mastering. Katz has mastered three Grammy Award–winning albums and one nominated album. Projects he has worked on have received Grammys and acclaim from audiophiles, and his book on mastering is considered by some to be the "definitive work on mastering". Career Katz taught at the Institute of Audio Research from 1978 to 1979. In 1988, Katz joined Chesky Records and began recording jazz and classical artists there, as well as producing oversampled commercial recordings. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist).
