Percival Ewens
Percival Charles Ewens played seven first-class cricket matches for Somerset between 1923 and 1926 as a right-handed batsman, batting mostly well down the lower order. He did not make his first appearance until he was over the age of 40, and all his first-class cricket appearances were in away matches. Ewens, born at Yeovil, Somerset on 23 November 1882, made his debut for Somerset in a low-scoring match at Chesterfield against Derbyshire in July 1923, batting at No 10 in each innings and being not out both times. He played in Somerset's next match, at Maidstone against Kent, batting at No 5 in the first innings, but then again at No 10 in the second innings, when he reached double figures for the first time in first-class cricket. Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Sussex. Its limited overs team is called the Sussex Sharks. Lord's Cricket Ground, commonly known as Lord's, is a cricket List of Test cricket grounds, venue in St John's Wood, Westminster. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the International Cricket Council, Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. Mote Park
Mote Park is a multi-use public park in Maidstone, Kent. Previously a country estate it was converted to landscaped park land at the end of the 18th century before becoming a municipal park. It includes the former stately home Mote House together with a miniature railway and a boating lake. Derbyshire County Cricket Club
Derbyshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Derbyshire.
