Penny Coomes
Penny Coomes (born 6 April 1989) is a former English competitive ice dancer who represented Great Britain. With partner Nicholas Buckland, she is the 2014 European Figure Skating Championships bronze medalist and has won six other international medals. They are also five-time British national champions (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018), and have competed three times at the Winter Olympics, in 2010, 2014 and 2018. Personal life Penny Coomes was born on 6 April 1989 in Maidenhead, England. She attended Wessex Primary School and Cox Green Secondary before moving to Nottingham. She learned ballet at Desborough School. She studied psychology at Nottingham Trent University. She is the stepdaughter of ice dancing coach Philip Askew. Coomes and Buckland were in a relationship for many years. On 24 December 2018, Coomes announced their engagement. 2014 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2014 European Figure Skating Championships was a senior international figure skating competition in the 2013–14 season. The competition was held in Budapest, Hungary from January 13 to 19th, 2014. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Records The following new ISU best scores were set during this competition: Qualification Skaters were eligible for the event if they were representing a European member nations of the International Skating Union and had reached the age of 15 before July 1, 2013 in their place of birth. Philip Askew (born 4 October 1973) is an English former ice dancer. With partner Marika Humphreys, he won the gold medal at the 1996 and 1997 British Figure Skating Championships. They finished 17th at the World Figure Skating Championships in 1996 and 16th at the event in 1997. John Kerr (figure Skater)
John Alastair Kerr (born 2 June 1980 in Broxburn, Scotland) is a Scottish former competitive ice dancer who represented Great Britain with his sister Sinead Kerr. Together, they are two-time (2009, 2011) European bronze medalists and the 2004–2010 British national champions. The Kerrs retired from competitive skating in April 2011. Sinead Houston Kerr (born 30 August 1978) is a Scottish former competitive ice dancer who represented Great Britain. She teamed up with her brother John Kerr in 2000. They are two-time (2009, 2011) European bronze medalists and the 2004–2010 British national champions. Evgeni Arkadievich Platov (Ukrainian to English: Ev'heni Arkadievich Platov) (; born August 7, 1967; Ukrainian: Євген Аркадійович Платов) is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. He is best known for his partnership with Oksana Grishuk from 1989 to 1998. The Golden Spin of Zagreb () is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), organized and hosted by the Croatian Skating Federation () and held in Zagreb, Croatia. 2010 British Figure Skating Championships
The British Figure Skating Championships are an annual figure skating competition organised by British Ice Skating to crown the national champions of Great Britain. The first official British Championships were held in 1903 in London. The competition – originally called the Swedish Challenge Cup – allowed for both men and women to compete, and consisted of compulsory figures and free skating; Madge Syers was the winner. Pair skating was added to the championships in 1921, a separate competition for women was established in 1927, and ice dance was added in 1937.
