Pengilly is an unincorporated community in eastern Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. Located in the northern part of the state, the community lies in the Iron Range region at the northern end of Swan Lake. Pengilly is located between Grand Rapids and Hibbing at the junction of U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota State Highway 65. The expressway section of U.S. 169 that travels between the cities of Virginia and Hibbing currently ends in the community of Pengilly. Geography Pengilly is located along the boundary line between Greenway Township and Lone Pine Township. The community is located along the northern end of Swan Lake. Nearby places include Nashwauk, Keewatin, Calumet, Marble, and Goodland. Pengilly is located 19 miles northeast of Grand Rapids. Lois Grace Hall, (August 22, 1926 – December 21, 2006) was an American actress and, more often known as Lois Willows after her marriage, an active member of the Bahá'í Faith communities of California and Hawaii. Early years Hall was born on August 22, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She grew up initially in Pengilly, Minnesota, where he father worked as a salesman for a tile factory. Initially, her father moved to Long Beach, California, where he worked as a realtor circa 1935-40, and then whole family moved there in Hall's childhood and went on to attend Woodrow Wilson Classical High School, Woodrow Wilson High School as it was called then. Youth Leadership Camp
The Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) is an annual four-week leadership program for deaf high school students which has been operating in the United States as a non-profit organization since the late 1960s. Youth Leadership Camp activities are conducted in American Sign Language. History From July 27 to August 23, 1969, the first camp was held in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Sixty-four freshmen and sophomore students attended. From 2005 to the present, the camp has been at Camp Taloali in Stayton, Oregon. The community is located between Grand Rapids and Floodwood at the junction of U.S. Highway 2 (U.S. 2) and State Highway 65 (MN 65).
