Silicon Island is a Artificial island, man-made islet currently under Land reclamation, reclamation off the southern coast of Penang Island in the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Penang. It is located off the shoreline of Penang Island and lies within the jurisdiction of George Town, Penang, George Town. Although ongoing reclamation works for Silicon Island officially commenced in 2023, the project, part of the Penang South Islands (PSI) master plan, had been in planning since 2015, and faced delays due to socioeconomic concerns and political developments. 2018 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018, five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013. Penang Strait
The Penang Strait is an 11 kilometre-wide strait that separates Penang Island from mainland Malay Peninsula. Gazumbo Island is a Tidal island, tidal islet off the eastern coast of Penang Island in the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Penang. Pakatan Rakyat
Pakatan Rakyat (PR; ) was an informal Malaysian political coalition and successor to Barisan Alternatif (BA). The political coalition was formed by the People's Justice Party (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP), and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) on 1 April 2008, after the 12th Malaysian general election, having previously formed the Barisan Alternatif (Alternative Front) in the 10th general election.
