Penalty Run
In cricket, a penalty run is a run awarded to one team for various breaches of the Laws by the other team, generally related to unfair play or player conduct. It is a type of extra. Many of these penalties have been added since 2000. Penalties are awarded under Law 41 for Unfair Play and, since 2017 under Law 42 for Players' Conduct It has been suggested that penalty runs could be imposed for slow over rates. History The 1798 Laws of Cricket introduced a new law that stated 'that a penalty of five runs would be awarded to the batting side "if the fieldsman stops a ball with his hat"'. The current laws have a direct equivalent, under Law 28, with the same penalty. Penalty runs awarded under Law 28 The Fielder Five penalty runs are awarded to the batting team if: * The ball strikes a fielder's helmet when it is on the field but not being worn (e.g. when temporarily taken off and on the field behind the wicket keeper). West Indies Cricket Team In Pakistan In 2022
The West Indies cricket team toured Pakistan in June 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. Originally, the matches were scheduled to be played in December 2021, but were postponed after multiple cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the West Indies team and support staff. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–23 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. On 28 March 2022, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the fixtures for the tour, with Rawalpindi initially hosting all three matches. The following month, the PCB also announced that the series would be played without any COVID-19 protocols, meaning that the series was played with no bio-secure bubble. However, in May 2022, the PCB moved all the matches to Multan, due to the ongoing political crisis in the country. The start times of the matches were also moved to 4pm local time to mitigate the impact of the extreme heat. The last time that the ground hosted an ODI match was in April 2008, during ...

Run Out
Run out is a method of dismissal in cricket, in which the fielding team put down the wicket of a batter who is outside their ground, usually because they are trying to score a run. Run out is governed by Law 38 of the laws of cricket. If the batter is judged run out, the run does not count and the bowler does not get credit for the wicket. A run out can also be effected when the batters are not attempting a run if one of them leaves the crease when the ball is not dead. Some such dismissals cause controversy because they challenge long-established — but not universal — conventions about the spirit of the game. Definition A batter is run out if, at any time while the ball is in play, no part of their bat or person is grounded behind the popping crease and their wicket is fairly broken by the action of a fielder. The batter whose ground is at the end where the wicket is broken is out. A batter can be run out even when not attempting a run if they are out of ...
