''Penn Endral Penn'' () is a 1967 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Aaroor Dass, in his only directorial credit. The film stars Gemini Ganesan, C. R. Vijayakumari and B. Saroja Devi. It was released on 7 December 1967, and failed at the box office. Plot Cast Production ''Penn Endral Penn'' is the directorial debut of Aaroor Dass. M. G. Ramachandran cautioned him against turning director, but Dass refused to listen. Saroja Devi, who had taken a hiatus from acting after marriage, sought a re-entry into film and asked producer A. L. Aaroor Dass
S. Yesudas (10 September 1931 – 20 November 2022) known by his stage name Aaroor Dass, was an Indian stage, film and television Screenwriter who was active in Tamil cinema during the latter part of the 20th century. Aaroor Dass has written the story and dialogues for over 1000 films, who dominate the Tamil film for more than 40 years. He wrote his first film for actor Sivaji Ganesan's '' Pasamalar'' (1961). He debuted as a director with the film ''Penn Endral Penn'' (1967). Early life Dass was born on 10 September 1931 to Sathyagu and Arockiya Mary as Yesudas at Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam. Gemini Ganesan
Ramasamy Ganesan (17 November 1920 – 22 March 2005), better known by his stage name Gemini Ganesan, was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He was referred as Kaadhal Mannan (King of Romance) for his romantic roles in films. Ganesan was one of the "three biggest names of Tamil cinema", the other two being M. G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. While Sivaji Ganesan excelled in Drama (film and television), dramatic films and M. G. Ramachandran was popular as an action hero, Gemini Ganesan was known for his Romance film, romantic films. A recipient of the Padma Shri in 1971, he had also won several other awards including the Kalaimamani, the MGR Gold Medal, and the Screen Lifetime Achievement Award. Pandari Bai (18 September 1928 – 29 January 2003) was an Indian actress who worked in South Indian cinema, mostly in Kannada cinema during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Kalki Krishnamurthy also edited the magazine, which is published on a weekly basis. During his term the magazine was much more respected due to its quality.
