Pelėdnagiai (formerly , ) is a small town in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the town had a population of 1016 people. It is located from Kėdainiai, on the left bank of the Nevėžis river, by its tributary the Ašarėna. Roads to Kėdainiai, Babtai, Jonava, Šeduva go next to Pelėdnagiai. There are kindergarten, library, culture house, cemetery. The Pelėdnagiai Botanical Sanctuary is located nearby. Pelėdnagiai Eldership () is a Lithuanian Elderships of Lithuania, eldership, located in the south eastern part of Kėdainiai District Municipality. Eldership was created from the Pelėdnagiai ''selsovet'' in 1993. Geography The territory of Pelėdnagiai Eldership is located mostly in the Nevėžis Plain and the Nevėžis river valley. Ašarėna
The Ašarėna is a river in Kėdainiai district municipality, Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. It flows for 6.4 kilometres and has a basin area of 8.8 km2. A left-bank tributary of the Nevėžis, the Ašarėna starts in the Pašiliai Forest, from Medekšiai. It meets the Nevėžis next to Pelėdnagiai. There are two ponds on the Ašarėna in Pelėdnagiai. The hydronym possibly derives from Lithuanian word ''ešerys'' (or ''ašarys'' in local dialect, 'perch Perch is a common name for freshwater fish from the genus ''Perca'', which belongs to the family Percidae of the large order Perciformes. January Events
The January Events () were a series of violent confrontations between the civilian population of Lithuania, supporting independence, and the Soviet Armed Forces. The events took place between 11 and 13 January 1991, after the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania, restoration of independence by Lithuania. As a result of the Soviet military actions, 14 civilians were killed and over 140 were injured as they peacefully protested for freedom in what is known as the Vilnius massacre. The 13th of January was the most violent day of the month in Lithuania and this was the bloodiest act of repression by Soviet forces since the April 9 tragedy. A ''seniūnija'' (in English: eldership, elderate, ward, parish, or subdistrict) is the smallest Subdivisions of Lithuania, administrative division of Lithuania. Vytautas the Great (; 27 October 1430) was a ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. He was also the prince of Grodno (1370–1382), prince of Lutsk (1387–1389), and the postulated king of the Hussites. Šeduva
Šeduva () is a town in the Radviliškis district municipality, Lithuania. It is located east of Radviliškis. Šeduva was an agricultural town dealing in cereals, flax and linseed, pigs and geese and horses, at the site of a royal estate and beside a road from Kaunas to Riga. The population from the fifteenth century was Catholic and Jewish. Until then, Lithuania had been the last pagan kingdom in Europe and allowed freedom of worship and toleration of Jews and other religions. The first Catholic shrine of Šeduva, the Church of the Invention of the Holy Cross, was built and the parish founded between 1512 and 1529.
