César Pelli (October 12, 1926 – July 19, 2019) was an Argentine architect who designed some of the world's tallest buildings and other major urban landmarks. Three of his most notable buildings are the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the World Financial Center in New York City, and the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco. The American Institute of Architects named him one of the ten most influential living American architects in 1991 and awarded him the AIA Gold Medal in 1995. In 2008, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat presented him with The Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award. Denis Pelli (born 1954) is a professor of psychology and neural science at New York University studying object recognition and reading. Pelli studied applied math at Harvard, and completed his PhD in physiology at Cambridge with Campbell and Robson in 1981. Since 1995, he is Professor of Psychology and Neural Science at New York University. Leemour Pelli is an American artist living and working in New York City. She is primarily a painter and she also makes sculpture, works on paper, installation, prints, and photography. Biography Leemour Pelli was born in New York City. Pelli received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the School of Visual Arts in New York and she earned a master's degree in art history from Hunter College. Pelli also studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, the Academie Charpentiere in Paris, Cornell University, and the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem.
