The Weyland Mountains, also known as the Kobowre Mountains, are a mountain chain in Western New Guinea. Ultra-prominent Peak
An ultra-prominent peak, or ultra for short, is a mountain summit with a topographic prominence of or more; it is also called a P1500. The prominence of a peak is the minimum height of climb to the summit on any route from a higher peak, or from sea level if there is no higher peak. There are approximately 1,500 such peaks on Earth. Some well-known peaks, such as the Matterhorn and Eiger, are not ultras because they are connected to higher mountains by high cols and thus do not achieve enough topographic prominence. The term "ultra" originated with earth scientist Steve Fry, from his studies of the prominence of peaks in Washington in the 1980s. His original term was "ultra major mountain", referring to peaks with at least of prominence. Dogiyai Regency is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in the Indonesian province of Central Papua. The Regency was created on 4 January 2008 from what had previously been the southern districts of Nabire Regency. Bird's Neck Isthmus
The Bird's Neck Isthmus is an isthmus in western New Guinea. It connects the main mass of the island to its two large western peninsulas, the Bird's Head Peninsula, also known as the Vogelkop or Doberai Peninsula, and the Bomberai Peninsula. The isthmus is mostly covered in lowland tropical rain forest. Geography and geology The isthmus is bounded by Cenderawasih Bay to the north, and the Arafura Sea to the south. The drainage divide is considerably closer to the north shore than to the south shore. The mountainous Wandammen Peninsula projects northwards from the isthmus into Cenderawasih Bay. Etna Bay, Triton Bay, and Arguni Bay are located on the southern coast of the isthmus, and Arguni Bay separates the isthmus from the Bomberai Peninsula. Paniai Lakes
The Paniai Lakes, originally known as the Wissel Lakes, are the three large, freshwater lakes in Central Papua, Indonesia: Paniai, Tigi, and Tage. Lakes Paniai and Tage are located in the Paniai Regency, while Lake Tigi is located in Deiyai Regency, the Deiyai Regency. The largest of the three is Lake Paniai (''Danau Paniai''), while its immediate neighbor Lake Tage is the smallest. Enarotali Nature Reserve
Enarotali Nature Reserve is a protected area in Central Papua Province of Western (Indonesian) New Guinea. It has an area of 3000 km2. The reserve is in New Guinea's Central Highlands. The western portion of the reserve covers the eastern end of the Weyland Mountains, and it abuts Weyland Mountains Nature Reserve.
