Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah
Mawlānā Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah () is a Pakistani politician from Azad Kashmir who is currently serving as a member of the Azad Kashmir Assembly since 2021. Early life and education His roots lie in the Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir. Apart from graduating from Jamia Binoria, Karachi, he also holds an MA degree from Karachi University. Political career In 2006, Mazhar Saeed Shah participated in the elections from Neelam Valley on the ticket of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and got 4000 votes. In 2011, he once again entered electoral politics but withdrew due to his party's alliance with the Muslim Conference. However, after that he withdrew from practical politics at the local level. In 2021, Mazhar developed ties with Tehreek-e-Insaaf and got a ticket for the special seat of Ulama in exchange for PTI's support in the July 25 elections. The Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, also known as AJK Legislative Assembly is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the autonomous state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which is located in Muzaffarabad. 2021 Azad Kashmiri General Election
General elections were held in Azad Kashmir on 25 July 2021 after the expiry of the 5-year term of the previous Legislative Assembly. The elections were held in 33 constituencies of Azad Kashmir and 12 constituencies of the refugees of Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan. By an early estimate, over 2.82 million people of Azad Kashmir were registered to vote; of which 1.59 million were male voters, while 1.30 million were female voters.
