Pedley Hills
The Pedley Hills are a low mountain range of the northern Peninsular Ranges System, in northwestern Riverside County, California. They are named for William Pedley, a civil engineer, who emigrated to the United States from England. Geography The hills are located within the city of Jurupa Valley, to the north and west of, and across the Santa Ana River from, the city of Riverside. The community of Rubidoux, a neighborhood of Jurupa Valley, is on the eastern side of the Pedley Hills, the neighborhood of Mira Loma is on the west and the neighborhood of Pedley is to the northwest. The taller Jurupa Mountains are nearby to the north. The hills are the location of the Indian Hills Golf Club. Mira Loma, California
Mira Loma (Spanish for "Hill View"), now officially part of Jurupa Valley, was a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. Its population was 21,930 in the 2010 census, up from 17,617 in the 2000 census. Mira Loma was known as Wineville prior to 1930. The name was changed that year to help disassociate the community from the Wineville Chicken Coop murders. Crestmore Heights is a former census-designated place in Riverside County, California, now part of the city of Jurupa Valley, California. Crestmore Heights sits at an elevation of . The 2010 United States census reported Crestmore Heights's population was 384. Geography The community is located on the south side of Fontana, north of downtown Riverside, California, and west of the Santa Ana River. Mount Rubidoux
Mount Rubidoux is a mountain just west of downtown in the city of Riverside, California, United States, that has been designated a city park and landmark. The mountain was once a popular Southern California tourist destination and is still the site of the oldest outdoor non-denominational Easter Sunrise service in the United States. Many historic markers and memorials have been placed on the mountain, the most prominent being the cross at the summit dedicated to Father Junípero Serra. A majority of Mt. Jurupa Mountains
The Jurupa Mountains, or Jurupa Hills, are a small mountain range of the Peninsular Ranges System, located in the southeastern Pomona Valley, within northwestern Riverside County and southwestern San Bernardino County of the Inland Empire region, southern California. Geography Mount Jurupa, at , is the tallest point in the range. It and the range draw their name from the Rancho Jurupa, an 1838 Mexican land grant, and one of the earliest permanent settlements in the area. Pedley was a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 12,672 at the 2010 census, up from 11,207 at the 2000 census. On July 1, 2011, the CDP became part of the City of Jurupa Valley. History Pedley took its name from William Pedley, a former English cricketer who became manager of the San Jacinto Land Company at Riverside, California. He was the designer, builder, and engineer of the irrigation system that was installed there. The settlement was named in 1903 or 1904 when the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad (SP&LASL), which is now the Union Pacific Railroad Company (UPRR), installed a switch and a railroad station at the location. Rubidoux ( ) was a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Riverside County, California, until July 1, 2011, when it became a neighborhood of the newly formed city of Jurupa Valley.
