Peck Building
The Peck Building is a repurposed textile factory in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Completed in 1904, the five-story brick building initially housed John W. Peck & Co., Montreal's second-largest clothing manufacturer at the time. The company oversaw the Peck's expansion, completed in 1913, and remained the sole occupant of the building until it was subdivided in the 1930s. Textile manufacturing remained the main practice amongst its tenants until the 1990s, when the industry deserted Montreal as a result of globalization. The workshops were gradually repurposed. The animation software designer Discreet Logic occupied the top floor between 1993 and 1997, during which time it produced technology for blockbuster films like ''Titanic''. Mile End is a neighbourhood and municipal electoral district in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the city’s Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Plateau-Mont-Royal borough. Description Since the 1980s Mile End has been known for its culture as an artistic neighbourhood, home to artists, musicians, writers, and filmmakers such as Arcade Fire, Bran Van 3000, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Ariane Moffatt, Grimes, Plants and Animals, Wolf Parade and Mac Demarco. ''Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell'' is a 2002 stealth game developed by Ubi Soft Montreal and published by Ubi Soft. It is the first game in the '' Splinter Cell'' series. Endorsed by author Tom Clancy, it follows the activities of NSA black ops agent Sam Fisher (voiced by Michael Ironside). The game was inspired by both the ''Metal Gear'' series and games created by Looking Glass Studios, and was built using Unreal Engine 2. Originally released as an Xbox exclusive in 2002, the game was ported to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, GameCube and Mac OS X in 2003.
