''Pecados y milagros'' () is the seventh studio album by México, Mexican singer-songwriter Lila Downs, released on October 18, 2011. The album cover was released on September 14, 2011. The album debuted at number fifty two on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 becoming her fourth-highest peak on the chart. It also debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums, ''Billboard'' Top Latin Albums Chart and stayed there for over 3 consecutive weeks. This album has sold over 60,000 copies in the US and over 290,000 copies worldwide. The album is the first album to win the Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano) and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. Lila Downs
Ana Lila Downs Sánchez (born 9 September 1968 * *) is a Mexican singer-songwriter. She performs her own compositions and the works of others in multiple genres, as well as tapping into Mexican traditional and popular music. She also incorporates indigenous Mexican influences and has recorded songs in many indigenous languages such as Mixtec, Zapotec, Mayan, Nahuatl and Purépecha. Born and raised in Oaxaca, she primarily studied at the Institute of Arts by Oaxaca and briefly attended the University of Minnesota, before withdrawing to focus on her musical career. She soon began performing in the traditional music scene of Oaxaca City. Her first (independent) album, ''Ofrenda'', was released in 1994. "Cucurrucucú paloma" (Spanish for ''Coo-coo dove'') is a Mexican huapango-style song written by Tomás Méndez in 1954. The title is an onomatopeic reference to the characteristic call of the mourning dove, which is evoked in the refrain. The lyrics allude to love sickness. Over the years the song has been used in the soundtrack of several films and has gained international popularity. It initially appeared in the classic Mexican comedy ''Escuela de vagabundos'' screened in 1955, where it was sung by the star of the film, Pedro Infante. Emiliano Zapata Salazar (; 8 August 1879 – 10 April 1919) was a Mexican revolutionary. He was a leading figure in the Mexican Revolution of 1910–1920, the main leader of the people's revolution in the Mexican state of Morelos, and the inspiration of the agrarian movement called ''Zapatismo''. Marco Antonio Solís Sosa (born 29 December 1959) is a Mexican musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Solís began his musical career at the age of six, performing with his cousin Joel Solís as Los Hermanitos Solís. The European Top 100 Albums chart was the European adaptation of the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. It ran from March 1984 until December 2010. Also commonly referred to as Eurochart Top 100 Albums, the chart showcased the sales of an act in 19 European countries based on IFPI data. It was compiled by ''Music & Media''. ''Billboard'' became ''Music & Media's'' financial partner in 1985 and later owned the magazine.
