Peadar Lamb
Peadar Lamb (24 December 1929 – 1 September 2017) was an Irish actor. He was known for his roles in numerous Irish-language stage productions, including playing King Fin Varra in the television series '' Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog,'' and voicing Grandpa Piggley Winks on the children's television series ''Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks''. Early life Lamb grew up in An Cheathrú Rua, Carraroe. His father, Charles Lamb, was a well-known painter. Peadar Lamb trained at the Abbey Theatre and first appeared on stage in 1954. Career Theatre Lamb had a theatrical career lasting over 60 years. Galway
Galway ( ; , ) is a City status in Ireland, city in (and the county town of) County Galway. It lies on the River Corrib between Lough Corrib and Galway Bay. ''The Colleen Bawn, or The Brides of Garryowen'' is a melodramatic Play (theatre), play written by Irish people, Irish playwright Dion Boucicault. It was first performed at Laura Keene's Theatre, New York City, New York, on 27 March 1860 with Laura Keene playing Anne Chute and Boucicault playing Myles na Coppaleen. It was most recently performed in Dublin at the Project Arts Centre in July and August 2010 and in Belfast by Bruiser Theatre Company at the Lyric Theatre in April 2018. Edmund John Millington Synge (; 16 April 1871 – 24 March 1909), popularly known as J. M. Synge, was an Irish playwright, poet, writer, essayist, and collector of folklores. As an important driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival, Irish Literary Renaissance during the early 20th century, he is widely regarded among the most influential dramatists of the Edwardian era, and by several of his peers, including W. ''On Baile's Strand'' is a play written by W. B. Yeats and first printed in '' In the Seven Woods'' published by Dun Emer Press in 1903. The play was first performed at the grand opening of the Abbey Theatre on 27 December 1904. The play is based around the Irish mythological hero Cuchulain.
