Payback (2014)
The 2014 Payback was the second annual Payback professional wrestling pay-per-view and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It took place on June 1, 2014, at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois for the second consecutive year. This was also the first Payback event to air on the WWE Network, which launched in February. The theme of the event was wrestlers seeking payback against their opponents. Nine matches, including one on the Kickoff pre-show, were contested at the event. In the main event, The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns) defeated Evolution (Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista) in a No Holds Barred six-man tag team elimination match. In other prominent matches, John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match and Bad News Barrett defeated Rob Van Dam to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Triple H
Paul Michael Levesque (born July 27, 1969), better known by the ring name Triple H, is an American business executive, actor, and retired professional wrestler currently serving as the chief content officer for WWE. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Jonathan David Good (born December 7, 1985) is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs under the ring name Jon Moxley. WWE Intercontinental Championship
The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE, currently defended on the SmackDown brand division. It is one of two secondary championships for WWE's main roster, along with the WWE United States Championship on Raw. The current champion is Gunther, who is in his first reign.
