Payap Premchai
Payap Premchai ( th, พายัพ เปรมชัย); is a retired Thai Muay Thai fighter. Biography and career Payap started training in Muay Thai at the age of 14 and had about 40 fights in various provinces before making his debut at the Lumpinee Stadium in 1975. In the late 1970s Payap emerged as a top fighter of the Bangkok circuit with an incredibly powerful left kick. in 1979 he defeated a first legend in Pudpadnoi Worawut, he then became the most dominant fighter of Thailand in the higher weights in the early 1980s. During his career he captured the Rajadamnern Stadium 147 lbs in 1986 and defeated notable fighters of his era such as Sagat Petchyindee, Lakchart Sor.Prasatporn, Posai Sitiboonlert, Somsong Kiathoranee, Krongsak Sakkasem or Samart Prasarnmit. Sakon Nakhon ( th, สกลนคร, ; sometimes written Sakhon Nakhon) is a city (thesaban nakhon) in Thailand within the Isan region, and capital city of Sakon Nakhon Province as well as Mueang Sakon Nakhon District, with a population of approximately 76,000. This is a list of highly notable Muay Thai practitioners (also known as nak muay). Legend * Nai Khanomtom (circa 1700s) - a legendary Thai soldier and boxer during the era of the Ayutthaya Kingdom who become known as the founder of Muay Thai. Khanomtom lived during the Second Burmese War (1765–1767). At that time, the Ayutthaya Kingdom was losing its long-running conflict with the Konbaung dynasty. In 1767, the capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom fell, and Khanomtom was one of the warriors who were captured and sent as a captive to the King of Burma. After seven years of captivity, King Mangra wanted to see how Thai fighters would compare to his fighters. Khanomtom was selected to fight against the King's chosen champion and the boxing ring was set up in front of the throne. When the fight began, Khanomtom charged out, using punches, kicks, elbows and knees to pummel his opponent until he collapsed. Queen Elizabeth Stadium
The Queen Elizabeth Stadium is an indoor sport facility on the Morrison Hill in Wan Chai, on the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong. First opened in 1980, it has a 3,500-seat arena, gymnasia, squash and badminton courts, and a multi-purpose hall. It was built by the Urban Council, and is now managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. It hosted the official 1983 Asian Basketball Championship.
