Payanoor or Paiyanoor is a village in Chengalpattu district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the nearest area to Mahabalipuram. It is located on Old Mahabalipuram Road. Governance Paiyanoor is a rural village panchayat within Thiruporur taluk. Until 18 July 2019 Payanoor was part of Kancheepuram district, until the division of that district into two parts. Thiruporur taluk is a taluk in Chengalpattu district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Thiruporur. History This taluk was created by the former chief minister J.Jayalalithaa in 2012 bifurcating Chengalpattu Taluk due to population increase. Kalpakkam is a township in Tamil Nadu, India, situated on the Coromandel Coast 70 kilometres south of Chennai.
