Paweł Kowalewski
Paweł Kowalewski – (born 20 September 1958 in Warsaw) is a Polish artist, member of Gruppa collective, academic teacher, founder of the Communication Unlimited agency. Biography From 1978 to 1983 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he received a diploma with distinction from the studio of Stefan Gierowski. Since 1985 he has been a lecturer at the Department of Design of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Currently he holds the academic title of professor of the Academy. He was a founder member of Gruppa, the most famous artistic grouping in Poland in the 1980s, together with Ryszard Grzyb, Jarosław Modzelewski, Włodzimierz Pawlak, Marek Sobczyk and Ryszard Woźniak. Roman Opałka
Roman Opałka (Polish: ; 27 August 1931 – 6 August 2011) was a French-born Polish painter, whose works are mostly associated with conceptual art. Opałka was born on 27 August 1939 in Abbeville-Saint-Lucien, France, to Polish parents. The family returned to Poland in 1946 and Opałka studied lithography at a graphics school before enrolling in the School of Art and Design in Łódź. He later earned a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He moved back to France in 1977. Opałka lived in Teille, near Le Mans, and Venice. He died at age 79 after falling ill while on holiday in Italy. He was admitted to a hospital near Rome and died there a few days later, on 6 August 2011. Museum Of Contemporary Art In Kraków
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków (MOCAK), (), is a contemporary art gallery in Kraków, Poland that opened on 19 May 2011. Situated 3 kilometres from the centre of the city, on a demolished part of the factory of Oskar Schindler, the aim of the gallery is to present and support contemporary art and artists, in particular art from the last two decades. The Museum includes a library, bookshop, café and contemporary art conservation laboratory. The museum houses works by such artists as AES+F, Krzysztof Wodiczko, Beat Streuli, Ragnar Kjartansson, Robert Kuśmirowski, Tomasz Bajer, Krištof Kintera, Maria Stangret, and Edward Dwurnik.
