Pavol Poráč is a Slovak ice dancer who also represented Czechoslovakia. With his partner Viera Poráčová, he is a three-time Slovak national champion and competed at the World, European, and World Junior Championships. He currently works as a coach and choreographer in Canada. Mitchell Islam
Mitchell Islam (born January 24, 1990) is a Canadian former competitive ice dancer. He teamed up with partner Alexandra Paul in 2009. They are the 2010 World Junior silver medalists, 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalists, and three-time Canadian national bronze medalists (2011, 2014, 2015). They competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career Early career From 2000 through 2008, Islam competed with Joanna Lenko. They trained at the Mariposa School of Skating, coached by Mitchell Islam's father, David. In the 2006–07 ISU Junior Grand Prix season, Lenko/Islam were 5th in the Netherlands and won a silver medal in Hungary. After taking silver on the junior level at the 2007 Canadian Championships, they were assigned to the 2007 World Junior Championships but withdrew after the original dance due to Lenko's illness. Slovak Figure Skating Championships
The Slovak Figure Skating Championships () are an annual figure skating competition organized by he Slovak Figure Skating Association () to crown the national champions of Slovakia. The senior-level championships are held in coordination with the skating federations of Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia as part of the Four Nationals Figure Skating Championships. The first Slovak Championships held after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia took place in 1993. The Czech Skating Association and the Slovak Figure Skating Association joined their national championships in 2007. Poland joined in 2009 and Hungary in 2014. Senior-level skaters from the four nations compete at the Four Nationals Championships, and then the results are split to form national podiums for each nation. Lauren Senft
Lauren Senft (born May 16, 1987) is a Canadian retired ice dancer Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. A .... She competed on the junior level with Andrew Hallam before teaming up with Leif Gislason in 2002. The two are the 2004 Canadian junior national silver medalists. Senft and Gislason split after the 2007 Four Continents Championships. Senft then teamed up with American Augie Hill and competed with him during the 2007 and 2008 season. Senft announced her retirement from competitive skating on May 9, 2008. |

The Canadian National Skating Championships () are an annual figure skating competition organized by Skate Canada to crown the national champions of Canada. While the first official Canadian Championships were held in 1914, unofficial championships had been hosted by the Minto Skating Club in Ottawa since 1905. Alexandra Paul (figure Skater)
Alexandra Jane Paul (September 16, 1991 – August 22, 2023) was a Canadian competitive ice dancer. With her skating partner and eventual husband, Mitchell Islam, she won the silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships. In their senior career, Paul and Islam were the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalists, three-time Canadian national bronze medalists (2011, 2014–2015), and represented their country at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career Alexandra Paul finished third with Jason Cheperdak in junior ice dancing at the 2009 Canadian Championships. She then began looking for a new partner and had a successful tryout in February 2009 with Mitchell Islam, a fellow skater at the Mariposa School of Skating in Barrie, Ontario. Justin Lanning (born 21 February 1973) is an English former ice dancer. He is the 1993 British national champion with Marika Humphreys and the 2000 Nebelhorn Trophy champion with Chantal Lefebvre for Canada. Career Justin Lanning originally competed with Marika Humphreys for the United Kingdom. After winning the 1993 British national title, they were sent to the 1993 European Championships, where they placed 12th, and to the 1993 World Championships, where they finished 17th. The following season, they took silver nationally and placed 16th at the 1994 World Championships. Lanning skated with Czech ice dancer Radmila Chroboková in the 1997–98 season. Chantal Lefebvre
Chantal Lefebvre (born June 5, 1977) is a Canadian former competitive ice dancer. With Michel Brunet, she is the 1999 Four Continents silver medallist and four-time Canadian silver medallist. With Justin Lanning, she is the 2000 Nebelhorn Trophy champion. Career Lefebvre skated with Patrice Lauzon early in her career. They placed fourth at the 1994 World Junior Championships. From 1995 to 1999, Lefebvre competed with Michel Brunet. They were selected to represent Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympics and finished 19th.
