Paul Tanui
Paul Kipng'etich Tanui (born 22 December 1990) is a Kenyan Long-distance running, long-distance runner. He won the 2010 Kenyan cross country running, cross country title and went on to take the silver medal at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He represented Kenya over 10,000 metres at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and took ninth place. He also competed in the 2013 Moscow World Championships and took the bronze medal in the same event. In 2016, he won the silver medal in the men's 10,000m at the 2016 Olympics. He has a personal best of 26:49.41 minutes for that event. The 13th IAAF World Championships in Athletics () was an international athletics competition that was held in Daegu, South Korea. It started on 27 August 2011 and finished on 4 September 2011. The United States topped the medal standings in the competition with 28 (12 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze). The New Year Ekiden, (officially the ), is an annual men's ekiden (road running relay) over 100 kilometres which takes place in Japan's Gunma Prefecture on 1 January. 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships
The 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships took place on March 28, 2009. The races were held at the Al Bisharat Golf Course in Amman, Jordan. Four races took place, one for men, women, junior men and junior women respectively. All races encompassed both individual and team competition. Amman is also only the second occasion on which Asia has hosted the World Cross Country Championships, which are the oldest IAAF World Athletics Series event, first celebrated under the IAAF banner in 1973. Nyanza Province
Nyanza Province (; ) was one of Kenya's eight administrative provinces before the formation of the 47 counties under the 2010 constitution. Six counties were organised in the area of the former province. The region is located in the southwestern part of Kenya around Lake Victoria. Meru is a town in eastern Kenya. It is the headquarters of the Meru County, and the seventh largest urban centre in the country. The 5000 metres or 5000-metre run is a common long-distance running event in track and field, approximately equivalent to or .
