Paul G. Summers (born March 28, 1950) served as attorney general of the state of Tennessee, United States, from 1999 through September 2006. He previously served as a Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals (1990–1999) and as a District Attorney. ''The Doctors'' is an American daytime soap opera television series which aired on NBC from April 1, 1963, to December 31, 1982. From anthology to serial ''The Doctors'' debuted on April 1, 1963, using an anthology format with different characters in each story; this was in contrast to all of the other daytime dramas on air at the time. The viewership numbers were not encouraging, however: in that first season, ''The Doctors'' pulled only a 3.4 rating, next-to-worst among network TV soaps. Beginning on March 2, 1964, however, ''the Doctors'' became a traditional continuing serial, more than doubling the ratings to 7.5 mark. For most of the series, storylines revolved around Hope Memorial Hospital and its patriarch Chief of staff Dr. Matt Powers (played by James Pritchett), who started on the program on July 9, 1963, although Pritchett originally appeared on the series during its weekly anthology period, in another role. Paul Somers
Paul Winterton (12 February 1908 – 8 January 2001) was an English journalist and crime novelist. During his career he used the pseudonyms Andrew Garve, Roger Bax and Paul Somers. Winterton was born in Leicester, the son of Ernest Winterton, a left-wing journalist and the Labour Member of Parliament for Loughborough from 1929 to 1931. He was educated at Hulme Grammar School in Manchester and Purley County School in Surrey. He took a degree in Economics at the London School of Economics. He was a reporter for ''The Economist'' for four years, and later for the ''News Chronicle'' (1933 - 1946). From 1942 to 1945 he was the Moscow correspondent of the ''News Chronicle'', where he was also the correspondent of the BBC Overseas Service. Winterton was the Labour candidate for Canterbury in the 1931 general election, and for Mitcham in the 1935 general election.
