Energy 52 is a solo project with only Paul M. (DJ Kid Paul) as the performing artist. Paul M. (DJ Kid Paul) is the sole performing artist on all tracks by Energy 52. Cosmic Baby (Harald Blüchel) only produced, co-composed, remixed Energy 52 tracks. The 1993 track "Café del Mar" became one of the most popular trance songs in the world; its dozens of remixes have appeared on hundreds of compilation albums. Harald Blüchel
Harald Blüchel (born February 19, 1966) is a German electronic artist who is mostly known under his alias Cosmic Baby. Blüchel is also well known for his participation in dance acts such as Energy 52 with Paul Schmitz-Moormann and The Visions of Shiva with Paul van Dyk. Biography and musical career Blüchel was born in Nuremberg, Germany. At the age of 6, Blüchel started taking classes in classical piano. He began studying at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg one year later. His favourite composers soon were, amongst others, Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky. In 1976, he discovered electronic music and take an interest in playing the synthesizer. At the time he was listening to bands such as Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream. Blüchel continued his studies in music. Café Del Mar (song)
"Café del Mar" is a song first released in 1993 by the trance project Energy 52. It is named after the famous bar located in Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain. Almost instantly recognisable by its distinct melody, its popularity is reflected in the countless remixes that have since been created as well as its being featured on hundreds of CD compilations. The main melody of "Café del Mar" is based on " Struggle for Pleasure" by Belgian composer Wim Mertens. The song has charted three times in the UK Singles Chart, all featuring remixes by Three 'N One. It first made number 51 in March 1997, a second release ("Café del Mar '98") featuring a Nalin & Kane remix reached number 12 in July 1998, and a further release featuring remixes by Marco V reached number 24 in October 2002. Peter Michael Tong, (born 30 July 1960) is an English disc jockey who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as '' Essential Mix'' and '' Essential Selection'' on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals.
