Paul Read (footballer)
Paul Read (born 25 September 1973) is an English retired professional association football, footballer who made 100 league appearances in English football, as a Striker (association football), striker, also playing in the United States and Sweden. Career Born in Harlow, Read began his career as an apprentice at Arsenal F.C., Arsenal, but he never made a league appearance for the Gunners. While at Arsenal, Read spent loan spells at Leyton Orient F.C., Leyton Orient and Southend United F.C., Southend United. He also spent time with the Albany Alleycats. After leaving Arsenal in 1997, Read signed for Wycombe Wanderers F.C., Wycombe Wanderers, and made 59 league appearances. He left Wycombe in 1999, and spent a season in Sweden with Östersunds FK, before returning to England with Luton Town F.C., Luton Town, where he made one Football League Trophy appearance. Paul Read (music Producer)
Paul Read is a recording engineer and music producer. He started his professional recording career at Rockfield Studios where he became a house engineer. Some of his most successful work as recording engineer includes Nigel Kennedy’s string arrangements for the Donovan album ‘Sutras’ (produced by Rick Rubin), Catatonia, including sessions for ‘International Velvet’ (3× platinum) and Coldplay ‘Parachutes’ (9× platinum). Read is quoted in the book ''Rock Legends at Rockfield'', talking about recording sessions for the Coldplay album ''Parachutes''Jeff Collins, ''Rock Legends At Rockfield'', University of Wales Press, 2007.
