Paul Phear
Paul Phear is a British radio presenter, who presents on weekday afternoons and Saturday evenings across the UK on Smooth Radio. Career In the 1980s, Phear worked as the afternoon presenter at GWR's Radio West, presenting the show between 1:15pm and 4:00pm in 1983 with a radio market taking place 15 minutes into the show, before moving to present a networked show on the GWR network. He also presented the Top 40 show on Radio West on Saturdays in the 1980s. Phear presented on the ''Superstation'', a radio service which existed from 1988 until 1991 and provided overnight for commercial radio stations across the UK. Throughout the 1990s, Phear worked at 95.8 Capital FM in London. As of 1994, Phear was presenting Saturday breakfast between 6am and 10am on the station. Smooth Radio (2014)
Smooth Radio is a network of local radio stations broadcasting on FM and DAB in the United Kingdom. It no longer broadcasts any outlets on AM since the last outlet on medium wave ceased at 1:00pm on Friday 28th February 2025. Smooth Radio previously featured a soft adult contemporary radio format but has introduced more upbeat music since 2023. Launched in March 2014, it replaced the national Smooth Radio that had launched in 2010 on FM and DAB, and most outlets of Gold on AM. Each FM station broadcasts localised breakfast with networked shows simulcast from London at all other times. Four of the seven FM stations, and the former AM stations, are owned and operated by Global, with the remaining three FM licences owned by Communicorp UK and run as a franchise. According to RAJAR, the network broadcasts to a combined weekly audience of 6.6 million with a listening share of 4.1% as of September 2024. GWR Radio
GWR FM was a network of three radio stations in the south west of England broadcasting to Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire and surrounding areas. All three stations were rebranded and joined the Heart Network on 23 March 2009. The stations in the network were: *GWR FM Bristol, which was launched in 1981 as Radio West. Capital Line
The Capital Line is a light rail line on the Edmonton LRT system. The line operates from northeast Edmonton to the south. Operated by the Edmonton Transit Service, the line provides access to Downtown Edmonton and the University of Alberta. The Capital Line currently consists of fifteen stations, six of which are underground. Seven stations are shared with the Metro Line. History On April 22, 1978, the line opened between Belvedere and Central stations. The original line was long and opened in time for the 1978 Commonwealth Games. At the time (and for another 37 years) the system consisted solely of the single line. It was not named the Capital Line until 2013 when expansion plans were revealed for additional lines. Magic Radio
Magic Radio is a British digital radio station owned and operated by Bauer Media Audio UK. The station is available on 105.4 FM in London, 106.5 FM in Bristol and across the UK on DAB Digital Radio, via Bauer's Rayo platform, and on Smart speakers. It plays "adult contemporary" such as Elton John, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Whitney Houston, UB40, Simply Red, and more. It had previously been a part of a network of Magic stations broadcast on FM in London and on MW across northern England and began broadcasting across the UK via the Digital One multiplex in January 2015. On 5 January 2015, Magic Radio launched nationally on DAB and all other Magic stations were dissolved to form the Bauer City 2 network.
