Paul Panik
Paul Panik Jr. (born June 7, 1988) is an American college baseball coach and former catcher, who is currently an assistant baseball coach at the College of William and Mary. Panik played college baseball at Canisius College for coach Mike McRae from 2007 to 2010. He then served as the head coach of the Iona Gaels (2019–2021). Playing career Panik attended John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction, New York, and played for the school's varsity baseball team for three years. Panik then enrolled at Canisius College, where he played college baseball for the Canisius Golden Griffins baseball team. As a freshman at Canisius College in 2007, Panik had a .214 batting average, a .391 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .271 SLG. As a sophomore in 2008, Panik batted .294 with a .510 SLG, 3 home runs, and 11 RBIs. In the 2009 season as a junior, Panik hit 3 doubles and had 11 RBIs. William & Mary Tribe Baseball
The William & Mary Tribe baseball team represents the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in NCAA Division I competition. The school's team, founded in 1895, currently competes in the Colonial Athletic Association and play their home games at the off-campus Plumeri Park. History The Tribe have played in four NCAA tournaments, 1983, 2001, 2013, and 2016, but have never qualified for the College World Series. The Tribe's combined NCAA tournament record is 4–8 (.333). Joe Panik
Joseph Matthew Panik (born October 30, 1990) is an American former professional baseball second baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, and Miami Marlins. Panik was an All-Star in 2015 and won a Gold Glove Award in 2016. Early life Panik was born in Yonkers, New York, to Paul and Natalie Panik. The family lived in East Fishkill during his formative years. He attended John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction. College career He attended St. John's University, where he played college baseball for the St. John's Red Storm, competing in the Big East Conference. Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Season
The 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 19, 2021. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2021 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 30, 2021. The Mississippi State Bulldogs won the tournament, and were consequently named national champions. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the season was delayed one week, and some teams opted out of playing at all for the 2021 season. COVID-19
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first known case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The disease quickly spread worldwide, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 NCAA Division I Baseball Season
The 2020 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 14, 2020. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members, 10 are located in three states of the northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The other member is in Maryland. Members are all relatively small private institutions, a majority Catholic or formerly Catholic, with the only exceptions being two secular institutions: Rider University and Quinnipiac University.
