Gerard Paul Greenhalgh (born 12 April 1979), known professionally as Paul Nicholls, is an English actor. He is known for his roles as Joe Wicks (EastEnders), Joe Wicks in the BBC One, BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', DS Sam Casey in the ITV1, ITV drama ''Law & Order: UK'', and Steve Bell (Ackley Bridge), Steve Bell in the Channel 4 drama ''Ackley Bridge.'' Career Nicholls made his television debut in 1990 at the age of 10, in ''Children's Ward''. In 1994, he appeared in the BBC children's drama ''Earthfasts (TV series), Earthfasts'' and ''The Biz (TV series), The Biz'', a teenage performing arts drama filmed at Hampton Court. Paul Nicholls (horse Racing)
Paul Frank Nicholls (born 17 April 1962) is a British National Hunt horse trainer with stables at Ditcheat, Somerset. A relatively successful jump jockey, Nicholls has become the leading National Hunt trainer of his generation in Britain, finishing the 2007–08 season with 155 winners and a record £4 million in prize money. As of April 2023, he has trained over 3,500 winners, won the 2012 Grand National, four Cheltenham Gold Cups and has been crowned British jump racing Champion Trainer fourteen times. Early life and education The son of a policeman, Nicholls was educated at Marlwood School, Alveston before leaving at 16 to take up work in a local point-to-point yard. Jockey career Nicholls turned conditional in 1982 under the tutelage of Josh Gifford before joining David Barons in 1985, and became stable jockey in 1986. Paul Nicholls (sportsman)
Paul Allen Nicholls (10 November 1946 – 17 January 2009) was an Australian sportsman who played for Western Australia in first-class cricket during the 1970s and played Australian rules football with the East Fremantle Football Club. Nicholls, a right-arm offspinner, started his career in the 1971/72 Sheffield Shield season and featured in the Western Australian side for much of the following two competitions. He then spent over four years out of the team before returning in 1977/78, but re-cement his place as the state's premier spinner. He claimed eight wickets on his first-class debut, against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval, including a five wicket haul in the second innings. Despite his efforts, Western Australia lost the match by 25 runs. Amongst his victims in first-class cricket were the Pakistani pair of Zaheer Abbas and Mushtaq Mohammad, whom he dismissed in a tour match for Western Australia against the touring nation. Paul Nicolas (4 November 1899 – 3 March 1959) was a French Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football)#Striker, striker. He was part of the France national football teams at the 1920 Summer Olympics, 1920, 1924 Summer Olympics, 1924, and 1928 Summer Olympics, 1928 Summer Olympics.
