Paul Masterson
Paul Kevin Masterson is a Northern Irish DJ and record producer, originally from Belfast and now living in London. He is best known for recording as Yomanda. He is also part of the dance music duo Hi-Gate, along with BBC Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules. Biography Recording as Amen! UK, he had a hi-NRG hit with "Passion", released by Deconstruction Records in 1995. ''Billboard'' magazine described it as being "underlined by an intangible but apparent reverence for hi-NRG architects, such as the late Patrick Cowley", praising the track's "crazy-catchy chorus" while slightly criticizing the lack of "meaty" lyrics otherwise. Rachel Auburn
Rachel Auburn (born 1958) is a British fashion designer and hard house and trance disc jockey and music producer. She has performed her music extensively internationally, and was both the first female DJ to play in China and the first to showcase 1980s London clubland fashion in New York and Tokyo. Auburn has held DJ residencies at club events including Tidy Trax, Taboo, and Trade, and has achieved UK chart success under her own name and the Tidy Girls and Candy Girls aliases. Biography Auburn was born in Kingston upon Thames in 1958. She has a degree in fashion design from Harrow College. Auburn is known for her "unconventional" and "experimental" fashion designs. "I Want Candy" is a song written and originally recorded by the Strangeloves in 1965 that reached No. 11 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. It is a famous example of a song that uses the Bo Diddley beat. Original version "I Want Candy" was written by Bert Berns, Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein and Richard Gottehrer in 1965. Some reports suggest that the song was written after the producers saw dancer Candy Johnson performing at the 1964 World's Fair. As writers/producers, Feldman, Goldstein and Gottehrer had already scored big hits for other artists, including " My Boyfriend's Back" by the Angels. Along with Giorgio Moroder, he has been credited as a pioneer of electronic dance music. Early life Cowley was born October 19, 1950, in Buffalo, New York, to Ellen and Kenneth Cowley. The family originated in the Horseheads and Corning areas of New York and lived in Rochester.
