Paul Marquess
Paul Marquess (born 23 June 1964) is a television producer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. His credits include ''Brookside'', ''The Bill'', ''Family Affairs'', ''Hollyoaks'', ''Crime Stories'', '' Suspects'' and '' Hope Street''. He also originated the idea for the series ''Footballers' Wives''. He currently holds the post of managing director of Newman Street, a label of Fremantlemedia. TV career Early stages Marquess began his career in 1996, as a storyliner on ''Coronation Street'', before developing and producing various other dramas for Granada television including '' Revelations'' from 1996, and '' Springhill'' in 1997. In 1999, he landed a job as series producer on ''Brookside'', working alongside Phil Redmond. The Only Way Is Essex
''The Only Way Is Essex'' (often abbreviated as ''TOWIE'' ) is a British reality television series based in Brentwood, Essex, England. It shows "real people in modified situations, saying unscripted lines but in a structured way." Broadcast on ITV2 from 2010, the series was moved to ITVBe in October 2014 and set to move back to ITV2 in autumn 2025. The first series consisted of 10 episodes and ran for 30 minutes, with a Christmas special following later in the year. Brendan Brady
Brendan Brady is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Emmett J. Scanlan. The character was introduced on 5 August 2010 by series producer Paul Marquess during part of the show's overhaul, and became one of ''Hollyoaks'' most popular characters. He is easily recognised by his famous horseshoe moustache. He is the older half-brother of already established character Cheryl Brady ( Bronagh Waugh).
