Paul Hinojos
Pablo J. Hinojos-Gonzalez (born July 17, 1975), also known as Paul Hinojos, is an American musician best known as the bass guitarist for At the Drive-In, and former touring member of The Mars Volta. He is also a former guitarist of Sparta. Biography Hinojos was born in Los Angeles. He met future bandmate Omar Rodríguez-López at the age of 13 in El Paso, Texas and apparently introduced Omar to another close friend and collaborator Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Rodriguez-Lopez and Bixler-Zavala would later ask him to join At the Drive-In after some significant member changes in 1996, making him a part of the band's most successful and well-known line up. After At the Drive-In took an indefinite hiatus in 2001, Hinojos, along with fellow ATDI members Jim Ward and Tony Hajjar, formed the band Sparta. The Mars Volta
The Mars Volta is an American Rock music, rock band formed in 2001. The band's only constant members are Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, producer, direction) and Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals, lyrics), whose partnership forms the core of the band. The band's current line-up also includes founding member Eva Gardner (bass), Omar's brother Marcel Rodríguez-López (keyboards, synths, percussion), Leo Genovese (piano, keyboard, saxophone) and Linda-Philomène Tsoungui (drums). "Wax Simulacra" is a single from the album '' The Bedlam in Goliath'' by the Mars Volta. The single debuted on November 18, 2007, on San Francisco's Live 105 FM. It was previously played live by the band under the name "Idle Tooth". The B-side "Pulled to Bits" is a cover of a Siouxsie and the Banshees song. On October 19, 2007, a promotional video for the single was released via the Universal Music Group web site. A video for the song features a montage of clips from the unreleased live DVD of Melbourne and Sydney 2007 shows, filmed by El Bufalo De La Noche director, Jorge Aldana. El Gran Orgo
''El Gran Orgo'' is the third EP by American post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, released on September 18, 1997 on Off Time Records. The EP is the band's first release to feature bass guitarst Paul Hinojos and drummer Tony Hajjar, who would remain in the band for the rest of its career. Produced by Bryan Jones and the band itself, the EP was recorded in January 1997, without the presence of founding member Jim Ward, whose guitar duties were filled by Ben Rodriguez and Omar Rodriguez, the latter of whom had previously played bass on the band's debut album, ''Acrobatic Tenement'' (1996). The title "El Gran Orgo" is taken from one of the characters of the movie ''Santa Sangre'' by Alejandro Jodorowsky. Rise Records is an American record label currently based in Beaverton, Oregon, mainly focusing on alternative rock, heavy metal, and punk rock music artists. Produced by guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and Rich Costey, it was the band's first studio album in seventeen years, following the release of ''Relationship of Command'' (2000) and their initial break-up in 2001. Recorded at Sound Factory, Hollywood during the band's 2016 reunion, ''in•ter a•li•a'' is the band's only studio album to feature guitarist Keeley Davis, who replaced founding member Jim Ward during its 2016–2018 reunion. The Blood Brothers are an American post-hardcore band which formed in Seattle's Eastside suburbs in 1997. The group released five full-length albums before their 2007 break-up, but reunited for a series of shows surrounding and including FYF Fest in 2014. They reunited once again in 2024 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album ''Crimes''. Cody Votolato (born 20 May 1982) is a musician from Redmond, Washington, best known for being the guitarist in the post-hardcore band The Blood Brothers. He grew up in the eastside suburbs of Seattle. Cody attended Redmond High School with his bandmates in the late 1990s when the band originally formed, graduating Spring of 2000. Idiot Pilot is an alternative rock duo from Bellingham, Washington, consisting of Michael Harris and Daniel Anderson. History After their previous band, pop-punk outfit Azero Cherry, broke up, high schoolers Michael Harris and Daniel Anderson decided to go it alone and started Idiot Pilot. Their debut album, '' Strange We Should Meet Here'' was originally self-released, before they were signed and remastered by Reprise. Daniel Robert Anderson (born March 3, 1986) is an American musician and record producer, and one of the founding members of the alternative rock band Idiot Pilot and dance/electronic band Glowbug. His side projects include Tarantula Tapes and the Ghost and the Grace. He is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Juan Alderete
Juan Alderete de la Peña (born September 5, 1963) is an American musician. He is best known as the longtime bassist of Racer X and for his tenures in the Mars Volta and Marilyn Manson. Biography Alderete was born in Los Angeles, California the fourth of five children. Son of the late civil rights activist Angel Manuel Alderete, he was exposed to jazz music on a weekly basis by his father, who often played it around the Alderete household. Juan decided to pick up the bass after he and his friends decided to start a band. Other early influences included his brother's progressive rock albums, which included bands such as Yes, Rush, King Crimson, etc. He started learning the basics of the bass guitar when he was 16, and was influenced by such players as Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, and Stanley Clarke.
