Paul Harris (September 15, 1917 – August 25, 1985) was an American actor. He had roles in films such as ''All Night Long (1962 film), All Night Long'', ''Across 110th Street'', ''The Slams'', and ''Truck Turner''. Background Harris was born and raised in Pasadena, California. At the age of sixteen, he became interested in entertainment and the theatrical world. He decided to study professionally at the Hebert Wall School of Music and The Actors Laboratory, both in Hollywood. He was chosen to study and appear in plays at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. He became one of the first known black actors and singers, appearing with such renowned organizations as the “George Garner Community Sing Association”, “The DePaur Infantry Chorus”, which took him to New York where he studied at the American Theatre Wing. Paul Percy Harris (April 19, 1868 – January 27, 1947) was a Chicago, Illinois-based attorney. He founded the club that became the humanitarian organisation Rotary International in 1905. Personal life Harris was born in Racine, Wisconsin, to George and Cornilia Harris. He was the couple's second child. At age three, when his family fell on hard times, Paul was moved with a sibling to Vermont to live with his paternal grandparents, Howard and Pamela Harris. Harris would later write about his parents: "Of all charges which might have been made against George and Cornelia, parsimony would have stood the least chance. They were both royal spenders." Paul L. Harris (born April 12, 1953) is an American politician of the Republican Party. He has served in both chambers of the Washington State Legislature. Career Harris owned Cascade Paint & Supply and was Vice President of Miller Paint Company. He previously served on the Evergreen School Board of Directors. In 2010, he was elected to represent Washington's 17th district in the Washington House of Representatives. In 2024, he was elected to the Washington Senate, winning 51.09% of the vote. Sir Paul Harris, 2nd Baronet (December 1595 – July 1644) was an English baronet and Surveyor of the Ordnance. He was the second son of Sir Thomas Harris, 1st Baronet, of Shropshire, whom he succeeded as 2nd Baronet in January 1628/9 after the early death of his elder brother John. He was educated at Shrewsbury School and knighted in 1625. In 1628 he was appointed Surveyor of the Ordnance, responsible for checking deliveries of new arms and other ordnance to the crown. He was appointed High Sheriff of Shropshire for 1637–38. At the outbreak of the English Civil War Sir Paul declared for the Royalists and signed the Declaration and Protestation of the Gentlemen of Salop in 1642. He was replaced as Surveyor in 1643 by Parliamentary appointees and had his lands confiscated by Parliament for his loyalty to the deposed king. Paul Harris (born October 15, 1986) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He played college basketball for Syracuse University. High school Harris led Niagara Falls High School to the 2005 New York State Class AA Championship averaging 19.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. He was recognized as the tournament MVP after scoring 19 points, along with eight rebounds and four assists in the championship game, overcoming a broken thumb in his shooting hand in the process. Harris was named first-team all-state in 2005 as Niagara Falls finished 28–1 and third in the national USA Today rankings. Paul Harris (November 5, 1925 – May 13, 2018) was an American sculptor and lithographer. He worked in a variety of media, but is best known for his life-sized stuffed and upholstered female figures. Early life Harris was born in Orlando, Florida. His father, Julian Harris worked as a broker for an orange farmer; his mother, Dorothy Haul, died from unknown causes when he was five years old, and he lived with his maternal grandparents until 1936, when his father remarried. His father's new wife, Helga Ebsen, and her sister Vilma were both dancers. Helga taught him to dance and she encouraged his interest in art. He spent the summer of 1943 with Helga and Vilma in Pacific Palisades, California, where he went to classes at the Chouinard Art Institute and worked as a riveter at Douglas Aircraft.
