Paul Garner (comedian)
Paul Garner (born 1968/69) is an English comedian, writer, producer and director. Garner is married to Kate, a singer songwriter who is the daughter of Chas Hodges from Chas & Dave. Personal life Paul is married to Kate Hodges, and they have a son named Harry. Radio Garner started out in radio working with Jo Bunting (now producer of '' Have I Got News For You'') and Chris Morris (''The Day Today'', ''Brass Eye'') at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. Garner then contributed to Chris Morris's weekend radio show at GLR in London before their now infamous stint at BBC Radio 1 in the mid-1990s. It was on this show that Garner made his airport tannoy recordings that have since become an internet phenomenon. He would go to Heathrow and get the tannoy announcer to page passengers whose names were essentially rude phrases written phonetically and disguised as foreign names. Chas & Dave
Chas & Dave (often billed as Chas 'n' Dave) were a British pop rock duo, formed in London by Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock. Hodges died in 2018. They were most notable as creators and performers of a musical style labelled ''rockney'' (a portmanteau of '' rock'' and ''cockney''), which mixes "pub singalong, music-hall humour, boogie-woogie piano and pre- Beatles rock 'n' roll". For a time, ''Rockney'' was also the name of their record label, their major breakthrough being "Gertcha" in 1979, which peaked at No. 20 in the UK Singles Chart, and was the first of eight Top 40 hit singles the duo played on. ''My New Best Friend'' was a hidden camera comedy game show that aired on Channel 4 from 8 August to 12 September 2003. It was hosted by Marc Wootton. Format The idea was a hidden camera show where a member of the public would enter into an agreement to be filmed for a whole weekend with the task of convincing their friends and family that a character being played by Marc Wootton was their new best friend. Their reward was a prize of £10,000. What made the game difficult was Marc's character constantly embarrassing them in front of their family and friends to extreme levels, but they had to agree and go along with everything he said. ''High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman'' is a British television comedy show broadcast on BBC Three and featuring character comedian Marc Wootton who plays an effete and slightly vicious medium/psychic. It is narrated by Patrick Stewart, with animated sequences by Rex Crowle produced by onedotzero. The character of Shirley Ghostman is sometimes considered to be a parody of the act of controversial psychic, Derek Acorah and contains actual satirical references to the television show 6ixth Sense with Colin Fry in Shirley's opening speech to the audience. The Priory (TV)
The Priory Hospital, Roehampton, often referred to as The Priory, is a private mental health hospital in South West London. It was founded in 1872 and is now part of the Priory Group, which was acquired in 2011 by an American private equity firm, Advent International.
