Paul Douglas (born c. 1950) is a Jamaican musician, best known for his work as the drummer, percussionist and bandleader of Toots and the Maytals. His career spans more than five decades as one of reggae's most recorded drummers. Music journalist and reggae historian David Katz wrote, "dependable drummer Paul Douglas played on countless reggae hits." Douglas has worked with artists including Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bonnie Raitt, and Eric Gale. Douglas has also toured with artists including The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Eagles and Sheryl Crow. Early life Paul Douglas was born in St. Ann, Jamaica. Paul Douglas (Illinois Politician)
Paul Howard Douglas (March 26, 1892 – September 24, 1976) was an American politician and Georgist economist. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a U.S. senator from Illinois for eighteen years, from 1949 to 1967. During his Senate career, he was a prominent member of the liberal coalition. Born in Massachusetts and raised in Maine, Douglas graduated from Bowdoin College and Columbia University. He served as a professor of economics at several schools, most notably the University of Chicago, and earned a reputation as a reformer while a member of the Chicago City Council (1939–1942). During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel and becoming known as a war hero. He first married Dorothy Wolff in 1915. They had four children. He divorced her in 1930 and a year later married Emily Taft Douglas, daughter of sculptor Lorado Taft and a U.S. representative from Illinois's At-large district (1945–1947). Early ... Paul Douglas Fleischer (April 11, 1907 − September 11, 1959), known professionally as Paul Douglas, was an American actor. Early years Douglas was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Margaret (Douglas) and William Paul Fleischer. He attended Yale University and participated in dramatics as a student there. Career Before becoming an actor, Douglas spent 20 years in the 20th Century-Fox newsreel department as a narrator and writer of captions. He had also been a narrator for several Vitaphone short films. Douglas made his Broadway debut in 1936 as the radio announcer in Doty Hobart and Tom McKnight's ''Double Dummy'' at the John Golden Theatre. In 1946, he won both a Theatre World Award and a Clarence Derwent Award for his portrayal of Harry Brock in Garson Kanin's '' Born Yesterday''. Douglas began appearing in films in 1949. Paul Anthony Douglas (1957 – 29 May 2006) was a British CBS News journalist and TV camera operator, who, along with soundman James Brolan, was killed from an explosion of a car bomb in the Karrada district, Baghdad, Iraq. He was best known for his video images from war zones and areas of conflict that he had been assigned to since the early 1990s. Career Paul Douglas was based in London with CBS News, he had worked with the network since the early 1990s, about 17 years. Prior to working for CBS, he worked for ITV. He first worked as a sound man and then became a camera operator. His career as a news camera operator took him to other wars and conflicts besides Iraq, and he was in Sarajevo, Bosnia from at least 1993–1994 covering the Siege of Sarajevo, Rwanda, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
