Paul Devautour
Paul Devautour is a French artist born in 1958 who lives and works in Shanghai. Life and career In collaboration with Yoon Ja Choi he created in 1985 the Collection Yoon Ja & Paul Devautour. They conceived works and exhibitions until 2004 under the names of Buchal et Clavel, Cercle Ramo Nash, Gladys Clover, J. Duplo, Manuel Ismora, Art Keller, Claude Lantier, Alexandre Lenoir, Martin Tupper and David Vincent. Some of their collected pieces are kept at the MAMCO in Geneva. Others are part of the Fonds régional d'art contemporain, Frac Poitou-Charentes collection (registered under the pseudonym Martin Tupper), the Villeurbanne Institut d'Art Contemporain collection, the Centre national des arts plastiques collection. MAMCO
The MAMCO () is the contemporary art museum of Geneva, which opened in 1994. Fonds Régional D'art Contemporain
A Fonds régional d'art contemporain (Frac) is a public regional collection of contemporary art set in one of the metropolitan or overseas regions of France. There are currently 23 Fracs across the country, organised into a national network called Platform since 2005. Fracs are funded by regions, by the state through the Ministry of Culture and by municipalities. Originally without venues, Fracs are now hosted in repurposed historical buildings, or in specifically-built art museums, depending on the size of their collection. Centre National Des Arts Plastiques
The Centre national des arts plastiques (National Centre for Visual Arts, Cnap) is a French institution established in 1982 under the Ministry of Culture and Communication that promotes creation of visual arts. It provides assistance to artists and galleries, and manages the '' Fonds national d'art contemporain'' (FNAC; National Foundation for Contemporary Art). Background The Cnap has its origins in the ''Division des Beaux-Arts'' (Fine Arts Division) created in 1791 just after the French Revolution with its own budget to encourage living artists and educate citizens. Aperto ’93 is the title of an exhibition of contemporary art conceived by Helena Kontova and Giancarlo Politi, and organized by Helena Kontova for the XLV edition of the Venice Biennale, directed by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1993. It reprised and expanded the concept of the exhibition ''Aperto'', a new section in the Biennale for young artists ideated by Bonito Oliva and Harald Szeemann in 1980.
