In 2004 the murders of Terence and Christine Hodson caused the Victorian government to establish the Office of Police Integrity to investigate probable Victoria Police involvement in the murders and to investigate the leaking of sensitive police information to the Melbourne underworld. Terence Hodson was to have been a police corruption witness and had rejected requests to enter the Witness Protection Program due to fears for his safety. A former police officer and a hitman were charged with their murders. Informant Hodson became a police informant in 2002, after he was arrested by Drug Squad detective David Miechel. Miechel was to become Hodson's handler. On AFL Grand Final weekend in September 2003, Hodson and off-duty Miechel were arrested for burglary on a house in Oakleigh East being used to store approximately $1.3 million in ecstasy pills by criminals and which was soon to be raided by the Drug Squad. Publius Terentius Afer (; – ), better known in English as Terence (), was a playwright during the Roman Republic. He was the author of six Roman comedy, comedies based on Greek comedy, Greek originals by Menander or Apollodorus of Carystus. All six of Terence's plays survive complete and were originally produced between 166–160 BC. Sallie-Anne Huckstepp (née Krivoshow, 12 December 1954 – 6 February 1986) was an Australian writer, sex-worker and whistle blower, who was the victim of an underworld homicide. Shirley June Finn, given name, née Shewring (2 November 1941 – 22 or 23 June 1975), was an Australian brothel keeper, nightclub operator and socialite who was shot dead at about midnight on 22–23 June 1975 in Perth, Western Australia. Her body, dressed in an elaborate ball gown and expensive jewellery, was found at dawn in her car, which was parked on a golf course next to a busy freeway.
