Gunilla Borgefors
Gunilla Borgefors (born 1952) is a Swedish computer scientist specializing in image processing, including distance transforms, topological skeletonization, and edge detection. She is a professor emerita in the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University, associated with the Centre for Image Analysis. Early life and education Borgefors was born in 1952 in Norrköping. She earned a master's degree in applied mathematics at Linköping University in 1975, and completed a Ph.D. in numerical analysis at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1986. Her dissertation, ''On Hierarchical Edge Matching in Digital Images Using Distance Transformations'', was jointly supervised by Germund Dahlquist and Jan-Olof Eklundh. Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004. Scopus covers nearly 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields: life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences. It covers three types of sources: book series, journals, and trade journals. The Science Citation Index Expanded – previously entitled Science Citation Index – is a citation index originally produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and created by Eugene Garfield. It was officially launched in 1964 and is now owned by Clarivate (previously the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters). The indexing database covers more than 9,200 notable and significant journals, across 178 disciplines, from 1900 to the present. These are alternatively described as the world's leading journals of science and technology, because of a rigorous selection process. GEOBASE is a database, multidisciplinary in scope, which indexes bibliographic information and abstracts for the Geographical, Earth, and Ecological sciences, published by Engineering Information, a subsidiary of Elsevier. The broad subject coverage includes earth sciences, ecology, geomechanics, human geography, physical geography, social geography and oceanography. Development studies are also included in this database. Coverage Coverage includes 2000 peer reviewed journal, and trade journal titles. ''Current Contents'' is a rapid alerting service database from Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Institute for Scientific Information and Thomson Reuters. It is published online and in several different printed subject sections. History ''Current Contents'' was first published in paper format, in a single edition devoted only to biology and medicine. Other subject editions were added later. Initially, it consisted simply of a reproduction of the title pages from several hundred major peer-reviewed scientific journals, and was published weekly, with the issues containing title pages from journal issues only a few weeks previously, a shorter time lag than any service then available.
