Patrick Sang
Patrick Sang (born 11 April 1964) is a Kenyan running coach and retired steeplechase runner. Sang won three silver medals in major 3000 m steeplechase competitions: *1991 World Championships in Athletics * 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics *1993 World Championships in Athletics He won the gold medal at the 1987 All-Africa Games held in Kenya. His 3000 m steeplechase personal best is 8:03.41, set in 1997. In the late 1990s he also competed in marathon and half marathon races. Collegiately, he competed for the Texas Longhorns. Athletics At The 1987 All-Africa Games
The fourth All-Africa Games were held in August 1987 in Nairobi, Kenya. Four new events were added to the games these were the women's 3000 metres, 10000 metres, 400 metres hurdles and 5000 metres track walk. Additionally the pentathlon for women was replaced with the heptathlon. Also four nations won medals for the first time in athletics at the All-Africa Games. Paul Tergat
Paul Kibii Tergat (born 17 June 1969) is a Kenyan former professional long distance runner. He became the first Kenyan man to set the world record in the marathon in 2003, with a time of 2:04:55, and is regarded as one of the most accomplished long-distance runners of all time. Runnerworld called him the "Most comprehensive runner of all time". Towards the end of his career he concentrated exclusively on the marathon. Tergat set several world records and won many titles on the track, in cross country, and on the road. He lives and trains in Eldoret. Early life Paul Tergat was born on 17 June 1969 in Riwo, Baringo District, in Kenya's Rift Valley Province. He attended Riwo Primary school and later joined Kapkawa Boys High School.
