Patrick McGuinness
Patrick McGuinness (born 1968) is a British academic, critic, novelist, and poet. He is a professor of French and comparative literature at the University of Oxford, where he is fellow and tutor at St Anne's College. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and was elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales in 2011. Life McGuinness was born in Tunisia in 1968 to a Belgian mother and an English father of Irish descent from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He grew up in Belgium and also lived for periods in Venezuela, Iran, Romania and the UK. He studied for a bachelor's degree at the University of Cambridge and a master's degree at the University of York before going on to a DPhil at the University of Oxford. Patrick Joseph McGuinness (born 14 August 1973) is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television presenter. He rose to fame with the help of fellow comedian Peter Kay, who invited him to appear on the television comedy series '' That Peter Kay Thing'' (2000), and the sitcoms '' Phoenix Nights'' (2000–2001) and '' Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere'' (2004). Patrick Joseph McGuinness (born 27 April 1963) is a former senior British civil servant who now advises businesses and governments globally on their resilience, crisis, technology, data and cyber issues. McGuinness served as the Deputy National Security Adviser for Intelligence, Security and Resilience in the Cabinet Office, from 2014 to January 2018.
