Pádraic Maher
Pádraic Maher (born 9 February 1989) is an Irish former Hurling, hurler who previously played for Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields GAA, Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a centre-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Maher first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. He played in every grade before eventually joining the senior hurling team as a 15-year-old. On 12 March 2005, Maher lined out at full-back when Thurles CBS suffered a 1-11 to 1-06 defeat by St. Flannan's College from Ennis in the Dr. Harty Cup, Harty Cup final. Garda College As a student at the Garda Síochána College in Templemore, Maher immediately became involved with the college's senior hurling team. Pat Maher
Patrick "Fox" Maher (13 September 1872 – 8 December 1933) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Tullaroan, County Kilkenny, Maher first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut during the 1893 championship and became a regular player over the next decade. During that time Maher won one All-Ireland medal and eight Leinster medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on four occasions. At club level Maher was a six-time championship medallist with Tullaroan and Johnstown. Maher retired from inter-county hurling during the 1905 championship. Playing career Club In 1895 Maher was in goal as Tullaroan faced Threecastles in the senior championship decider. A narrow 1–4 to 1–2 victory gave him his first championship medal. Patrick Maher (hurler)
Patrick "Bonner" Maher (born 12 October 1989) is an Irish people, Irish hurling, hurler. He was part of the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior team from 2009 until retiring in 2024. Maher joined the team straight out of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship, minor grade during the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2009, 2009 championship, however, he didn't become a regular member of the starting fifteen until the following year. Since then he has won three All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland winners' medals (2010, 2016, & 2019) and five Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Munster winners' medals (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 & 2016). He has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions (2009, 2011 & 2014). Patrick Maher (Irish Republican)
Patrick Maher ( – 7 June 1921) was a member of the Irish Republican Army executed in Mountjoy Prison. He was 32 years old at the time of his death. Background A native of County Limerick, Maher was hanged along with Edmond Foley for his alleged involvement in the rescue of Seán Hogan at Knocklong Railway Station on 13 May 1919 in which two Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) officers were killed. Trial and Execution Unlike Foley, Maher had no direct involvement in the rescue. He merely worked at the station grading poultry and eggs and he was at a crossroads three miles away at the time of the ambush. Maher strongly protested his innocence. Two civilian juries failed to reach a verdict. He was finally convicted of involvement by a military court-martial and sentenced to death.
