Patrick Hombergen
Patrick Hombergen (born 8 September 1946) is a former professional tennis player from Belgium. Biography Hombergen was a regular Davis Cup representative for Belgium, the fourth to feature in 20 ties. From 1966 to 1980 he played in a total of 21 ties and had a 26/31 overall record, 15/24 in singles and 11/7 in doubles. He won a five set match over Jan Kodeš in Brussels in 1968, from two sets down. In Grand Slam competition he had his best results in 1972 when he made the second round of the French Open and third round of the Wimbledon Championships. At the 1972 French Open he also reached the third round of the doubles with Davis Cup teammate Bernard Mignot and en route the Belgians caused an upset with a win over the second seeded pairing of Ilie Năstase and Ion Țiriac. His career on the Grand Prix circuit involved four quarter-final appearances, three in 1972, at Brussels, Gstaad and Hilversum. Bernard Mignot
Bernard Mignot (born 3 December 1948) is a former professional tennis player from Belgium. Biography Mignot was the first Belgian to win a Grand Prix tennis circuit, Grand Prix or ATP title and the only one to do so for over 20-years. He defeated Jiří Hřebec in the final at Düsseldorf Grand Prix, Düsseldorf in 1974. A year earlier he had countryman Patrick Hombergen were runners-up in the doubles at Valencia, Spain. He famously made the fourth round of the 1976 French Open, despite entering the draw as a last minute lucky loser. After losing in the final stage of the qualifiers, he had given up getting an opportunity to play in the tournament so spent the second day of the opening round touring Paris and visiting the cinema. Mike Estep
Mike Estep (born July 19, 1949) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. During his career Estep won 2 singles titles and 7 doubles titles. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 59 in August 1973. In 1983 until 1986 he coached Martina Navratilova. Later he worked with Carling Bassett, Hana Mandlíková, Jana Novotná and Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. He was a board member of the Association of Tennis Professionals from 1982 to 1989, holding the position of chairman of the ATP ranking Committee at the same time. He also worked with the U.S. Tennis Association, creating a method for ranking juniors in 1999 that is now used nationwide, and serving on the junior development council for Texas from 1993 to 1995. The Dutch Open is a professional tennis tournament currently part of the ATP Challenger Tour since 2019. It is played on outdoor clay courts in Bunschoten, Netherlands (since 2025). Originally known as the International Championships of the Netherlands and then known as the Dutch Open Tennis, it was a Grand Prix circuit and subsequently an ATP Tour event held in three different locations in The Netherlands between 1957 and 2008. The ITF Grand Prix Circuit was a professional tennis tour for male players founded in 1970 as the ILTF Grand Prix Tennis Circuit it was administered by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and ran annually until 1989 when it and the rival WCT Circuit were replaced by a single world wide ATP Tour.
