Patrick F. Trainor
Patrick F. Trainor (January 4, 1863 Glasgow, Scotland – December 25, 1902 Albany, New York) was an American politician from New York (state), New York. Life The family emigrated to the United States when Patrick was still a child. He attended St. Michael's Parochial School and 35th Street Public School in New York City, and then worked for the American District Telegraph Company. Later he became the manager of the Boston and Ohio Telegraph Company's New York City branch, and then was assistant to the General Manager of the company, at Washington, D.C. He returned to New York City in 1885, and began to study law. Trainor was a member of the New York State Assembly in 117th New York State Legislature, 1894 (New York Co., 17th D.), 119th New York State Legislature, 1896, 120th New York State Legislature, 1897, 121st New York State Legislature, 1898, 122nd New York State Legislature, 1899 and 123rd New York State Legislature, 1900 (all five New York Co., 13th D.). 125th New York State Legislature
The 125th New York State Legislature, consisting of the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly, met from January 1 to March 27, 1902, during the second year of Benjamin B. Odell, Jr.'s governorship, in Albany. Background Under the provisions of the New York Constitution of 1894, 50 Senators and 150 assemblymen were elected in single-seat districts; senators for a two-year term, assemblymen for a one-year term. The senatorial districts were made up of entire counties, except New York County (twelve districts), Kings County (seven districts), Erie County (three districts) and Monroe County (two districts). The Assembly districts were made up of contiguous area, all within the same county. At this time there were two major political parties: the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. John Kerrigan (born March 17, 1851, in Ireland) was an American politician from New York. Life The family emigrated in 1852 to the United States, and settled in New York City. He attended the public schools, and then became a carpenter. Later he engaged in the real estate business. Kerrigan was a member of the New York State Assembly (New York Co., 17th D.) in 1889, 1890, 1891 and 1893, and was Chairman of the Committee on Trade and Manufactures in 1893. He was again a member of the State Assembly (New York Co., 11th D.) in 1913, 1914 and 1915. The Citizen's Union, a non-partisan organization vetting candidates, described him as having a "uniformly bad record".
