Patrick Daniel Koroma
Patrick Daniel Koroma, C.S.Sp., MOR (4 May 1950 – 14 December 2018) was the bishop of the Catholic Church in Kenema, Sierra Leone. Early life Koroma was born to Mamie and Bockarie Koroma. He was born and raised in the village of Kenema District, Jenneh, Kandu, Leppiama Chiefdom, Kenema District. Education From 1958 to 1962, Koroma received his primary education at the parish school at Gbado. From 1962 to 1965 he studied at the parish school in Blama. He graduated from Christ the King College in Bo in 1970. Koroma received his training at Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary in Ibadan, Nigeria. He did his post graduate studies in Education at the University of Sierra Leone. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kenema ( la, Kenemaën(sis)) is a diocese Catholic Church in the Ecclesiastical province of Freetown in Sierra Leone. The region that the Diocese comprises are the border from Bo District to the west, the Republic of Liberia in the southeast, Tonkolili District and Kono District in the north, Guinea in the east. The Most Reverend Thomas Joseph Brosnahan, Archbishop Emeritus, C.S.Sp. (30 March 1905 – 26 January 1996) was Archbishop of Freetown and Bo in Sierra Leone. Early life Born in Whitegate, Ireland, on 30 March 1905. He was educated in Rockwell College, Co. Tipperary. He played hurling for the school senior team. He entered Holy Ghost Missionary College, Kimmage Manor, Dublin to study for the Holy Ghost Fathers, and studied in Blackrock College. Ministry He entered the Holy Ghost Fathers and his ordination took place on 16 June 1929. His ministry in east Nigeria began in 1933, where he remained for 20 years.
