Patriarkh
Patriarkh (stylised as PATRIARKH in English and ПАТРИАРХЪ in Cyrillic) is a Polish black metal band based in Białystok. The band has its origins in Batushka, from which it splintered after a conflict over the rights to the band name. Their music and lyrics are inspired by the Eastern Orthodox Church, traditional hymns, songs, history and conflicts of the church and regional folk-lore. The band members wear interpretations of Analavos of the Great Schema ''(see Eastern Orthodox schemas)'', Mitres, and Klobuks during live performances. History Patriarkh was created after splits within the band Batushka. After Bartłomiej Krysiuk and Batushka founder Krzysztof Drabikowski engaged in a legal conflict over the rights to the name, each member continued using the name Batushka. Batushka
Batushka (Cyrillic spelling: Батюшка) is a Polish black metal band based in Białystok founded by Krzysztof Drabikowski in 2015. Their music and lyrics, which are written exclusively in Church Slavonic language, are inspired by the Eastern Orthodox Church. The band members wear religious habits and Eastern Orthodox schemas during live performances to conceal their identities. In contrast with many other black metal bands, they use eight-string guitars. In 2018 Bartłomiej Krysiuk (also known as Bartek Krysiuk), owner of independent label Witching Hour and at the time lead singer of the band, tried to remove Drabikowski from the band and without his consent, attempted to register a trademark for the name 'Batushka'. Krysiuk along with members of the live backing band were signed to Metal Blade Records under that name. Subsequently, Drabikowski filed a lawsuit against him. Eliasz Klimowicz
Eliasz Klimowicz (2 August 1864 – 1940 or later), also referred to as Prorok Ilja ("Ilja the Prophet") and Ilja Grzybowski ("Ilja of Grzybowszczyzna"), was a Polish-Belarusian cult leader and an Eastern Orthodoxy, Orthodox peasant, active in the Podlachia region. Early life Klimowicz was born in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in Grodno Governorate of the Russian Empire (now in Podlaskie Voivodeship, Poland). He came from a religiously mixed family of Orthodox and Catholic Church, Catholic Christians. His father, Wawrzyniec, was a veteran of the January Uprising and an Orthodox. His mother, Józefina, was Catholic. He was named after the biblical prophet Elijah and baptised in the Orthodox church in Ostrów Północny. He had two brothers. Klimowicz did not attend any school and was illiterate.
